Reviews for The Local in Toronto, ON
The bartender at this place claimed that they do not have a menu, while I can clear see they have a bunch in the wire basket on... the wall. No one served us or asked us during our 30mins stay there. To be honest, I love Roncesvalles community and being to alot restaurants along this street, I have never being treated like this. Was it because I am Asian? Not too sure. Read more
It might be a tavern but it feels like a home. Great beers, some of the best bartenders on Dundas. Deceptively good venue for... live music and they book really awesome performers. Sweet private patio in the back and another one up front if you like towatch the street while enjoying a cold pint. If you haven?t checked it out you?re missing out. Read more
The bar was completely packed because Roadhouse was playing at the theater beside the bar, but Angie was a complete professional... amongst the chaos and we had an amazing night because of her Read more
I came to this place to enjoy a night out with friends and i couldn't help but to feel disappointed, accordingly the waiter told... my friends the day before thst there was going to be live punk music, to our surprise it was actually country music, stilljammed to it but not what we were initially expecting. Anyways the food.... - I ordered a poutine and without doubt it is oneif not the most depressing poutine i ever tasted, the fries were burnt, and with the mix of gravy and scallions on top of thefries it ended up tasting like cheap instant noodles, it gave me flashbacks of when i didn't had anything else to eat. -Drinks.... The only drink menu they have is for tap and canned beers, no cocktail menu, when asked about it the waiter said hecould make any drink we asked about, yet.... At least for me i like to see the menu and see the options to choose somethingaccording to my mood. The beer menu doesn't show any prices so that's somewhat misleading. -Vibe.... The vibe was cool, cozy, music somewhat decent yet this really doesn't save the place from my experience. Overall it's a nice place to have a pint andlisten to some local music, They do serve IPA so that's cool, still wouldn't come back for the food Read more

I came with my friend for drink and snacks before movie. We waited for almost 20min without a menu. The bartender came to us... and we asked him for a menu but we?re only told that there was no menu (while we saw menu on every other table). When we askwhat scotch they have, he did not bother mention any option and just told as to walk to the bar and order. We stayed there foranother half an hour without any waitress/waiter checking with us for orders. I have never had such experience before, unfortunately this happened right beside our favourite movie theatre Revue. Just hope no one else would have to go through this. Read more
