Reviews for Taverna Mercatto in Toronto, ON
Nice restaurant to grab lunch with colleagues and friends on a weekday at work. If you go a bit later than the rush hour... lunchtime the service is very fast. Some servers have a wicked sense of humour which is quite entertaining if taken in the rightspirit. The Wild boar gnocchi was good, though too much flavour drowned the gnocchi itself. Read more
This was a date night for me, which hoped would be nice. We waited 45 minutes for our food to arrive whereas there were 2 tables... seated next to us who arrived at the same time as us and ordered later than us, but got the food super early. We ordered thepesto bread, which was slightly burnt. the cheese on it was nice. The wild board gnocchi is very expensive and the texture wasvery chewy. The Margarita pizza was super sweet , felt like a dessert pizza. So overall the food was a thumbs down. Now to theservice, the server brought some other persons order to our table, it was a simple small plate of salad, she came back a minutelater when my husband has put his fork in the salad about to take a bite and almost snatched the plate off the table saying thatwas not out order. She even did not want him to eat the bite in the fork for no fault of our own. So overall the service was amajor disappointment. Read more
I was celebrating my 21st birthday with some friends and headed here for dinner before a 7pm Blue Jays game. The atmosphere and... vibe of this restaurant was so good - great music + amazing food/drinks. Our server Dominic was unreal and made our night 10xbetter. The service was really fast and attentive. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to grab a bite before Blue Jaysgame, Leafs game or any concert/event in the area. Read more
We came over the weekend during dinner rush, luckily we were able to get a seat by the bar. Our server was amazing, very kind,... and friendly. For our main course, we got the carbonara and lasagna, both tasted good and was pretty filling. Nothing to writehome about, it's just average overall compared to other places I been too. We also ordered the fries on the side. I wasexpecting the fries to be crispy and hot, but it was lukewarm and soggy. But the aioli that comes with it was amazing. The foodcan take a while to come out, but it's understandable given how busy it was. Thankfully our server was able to keep tabs on usand ensure we get our food. Read more

The best part of our experience was our amazing server Anna. She was friendly, had a nice sense of humor and was attentive. She... made our experience more enjoyable. We only ordered a few appetizers and some drinks so can't exactly comment too much on thequality and the taste of the food. The dishes we ordered were average. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating witha nice ambience. Thanks Anna for your warm and friendly hospitality. Read more
Awesome ambiance with rude server. We went here for dinner. The place has really good vibe.. tried fried calamari and Linguine... Di Mare pasta .. the food quality is average. The service was pretty slow.. As a Italian restaurant we ask for “ravioli” butthe server got offended saying “will serve whatever is available on menu” !! And for desserts the same server suggestedcakes/ sweets that was not on the menu .. saying "our menu is not updated"????????.. Read more
This place is a gem and I’m surprised how I never heard of it! Great staff and great food! For years I have looked for real... Italian food and couldn’t find any until today! Highly recommended if you miss the pasta you had in Italy. Only oneadjustment I would ask for is to use les salt on fries and calamari, both were too salty. Read more
