Did not like. Very bad service! I asked for water and there was an insect inside the glass. Then I asked for a soda and they... didn't bring it. The food is bad. And they even forced me to give tips even though I didn't deserve it. I wasn't going to givetips, but the attendant said it out loud: NO TIPS? and she embarrassed me in front of everyone and I had to give tips. Good spot for late-night eats given the hours, but exceptionally poor service. The item I ordered tonight appeared on the menu... as $18, and I was charged nearly double the price ($35). When I questioned the cost, I was told the price of menu items hadincreased and that they had not updated the menu yet. I can understand printing new menus takes time, but the server shouldhave notified me that the price difference was nearly double what appeared on the menu. There was no apology or offer to reducethe price. Having worked in the hospitality sector myself, I find this totally unacceptable and warranting a review. I won't bereturning again. Taste of China has some really great food! I'm so happy we stumbled in! It has a pretty plain appearance but don't let that... dissuade you. If you're looking for big portions of delicious dishes this is the place! Read more

We had a late night dinner here. The Sizzling Spicy Chicken was a little bland, but after adding soy sauce and chili oil, it was... pretty good. The Shrimp and Snow Peas was delicious, with plenty of large shrimp. The inside of the restaurant is elegant andclean. Read more

Food has acceptably large portions and the pricing and quality is very reasonable, but the staff have extremely minimal customer... service while still expecting a tip. They seem to have a very hard time accepting electronic payments (they hate credit card buteven debit has taken a long time for them to warm up to despite Interac having dirt cheap transaction fees). They act as if youwill impose a $500 fine on them for using a MasterCard to pay. This is not uncommon in these kinds of establishments, but theywill need to get with the times because not everyone has a wad of cash on their person anymore. The foods are tasty, seafood is very fresh, cooking not too much oil and MSG, you should come and try out

Had a craving for Chinese food, specifically the deep fried squid. Enjoyed the meal! Got an order of chow mein, deep fried... squid and yeung-chow fried rice. Good portion size, everything arrived piping hot, tasty overall and seemed freshly cooked. Read more
