I've visited Pomegranate a few times and I absolutely love that restaurant and consider it as a gem of Toronto. So this time... around I wanted to check out Sheherzade which is their sister restaurant. Overall the flavors were great and delicious. We hadtried the Shishlik and the Abgoosht. The presentation of the Abgoosht was pleasant. The various components of the chickpeas andthe lamb, the stew, the bread was inviting and provided that warmth and comfort for the chilly late summer day. The flavors weregreat but the only concern was if it was actually lamb shanks in the dish as it was way too fatty than expected. Personally Iwould have preferred the fatty parts removed for a much more easier and better eating experience. The bread was crispy andprovided the right amount of texture for the dish. The Shishlik had a good amount of meat that was well cooked. But the overalldish itself felt a bit dry for my liking. There needed to be an item that soften the plate a bit to make it a winner. Morevegetables or a pomegranate salad would have been apt. I think the sauces are extra, but I would just rather provide it with thedish and add that cost to the price rather than selling it separately. We ended the evening with the Saffron Ice Cream withPistachios which I probably loved the most. The flavor might feel a bit overpowering for the uninitiated but I think it's worththe try. The service was amazing. I still feel Pomegranate has a definite edge that makes it stand out and provide a memorableexperience. Th ambiance at Pomegranate is far superior and the food is much more richer and wholesome with all the componentsthat are nicely thought through. Even though Sheherzade is termed as more "street-food" than fine-dining, I still feel it needswork with the menu to make it a winner for me. Read more
It is a cozy small persian spot with lovely decoration, it was my first experience here so the review is base on that. the... waitress was lovely, she was veryyyy sweet , helpful , attentive and caring . Couldnt be any better. Kal kabob, ZeitoonParvardeh and bread were the highlights of our orders . Thigh jooje kabob was well made but Chenjeh could be more tender. Theice cream was very far from expextations. AND the side salads had some sour dressing which was too sour and acidic like whichhurt the mouth. It had lemon on the side I guess than could be enough . A friend strongly recommended the Pomegranate restaurant, but they did not have a table and we decided to give Sheherzade a... try. Overall, the food is good. For sure my expectations were higher compared to what I had, mainly regarding the main plate. Iwould not say that I was disappointed, but for sure it was not one of the best experiences I had, although the service was verygood. We started with the appetizer Zeitoon Parvardeh and it was a nice flavorful surprise. Their barbary Persian flatbread isvery good and it was crunchy, soft and warm. For the main, I shared the Kabob Bakhtiari with my boyfriend. The dish had a goodsize for sharing as we shared the appetizer as well. I love salad and the one that came in the plate was very good. The vealtenderloin was very flavorful, but the chicken breast was a little bit dry and it did not have a strong flavor. I was reallyexpecting more as they are considered a grill house. For me, the dessert was the one that changed my review from 3 to 4 stars.Their saffron ice cream is so yummy! We shared in 3 people and it was enough. It is very flavorful, light, creamy and not thatsweet. The pomegranate molasses and pistachios made it even better. Read more
Ideally I'm sure this place is amazing and wonderful, however I didn't have that experience. The food was dry and over cooked.... Ordered the barg which is usually the best dish to get at any persian or Irani restaurant and it was just off. The waitress wasnice and did her best so service is good. I really wish I liked it more, however all things considered it was mediocre to saythe least. Hope you have a better experience than I did. Read more

Love this place, always clean and their meals are fresh and well-decorated. It's a tiny and cosy restaurant which probably... accommodates 30-35 people. I always leave the place satisfied and their staff are all very professional. They have great choicesof Persian Kebabs and appetizers. Keep in mind that they work on Tuesdays through Sundays and they are open from 5pm to 10pm onweekdays. You should make reservation before going there. Read more
Authentic Persian spot that stays true to their values and standard. Sheherzade truly shines as a middle eastern restaurant that... serves good and authentic food and is DOWNTOWN. We ordered the vaziri, mast-o-sadeh, and saffron ice cream. While the yogurt ispretty plain, it had a thick consistency (I recommend you go for the one with cucumbers). The kabob koobideh melts into yourmouth! The chicken was nice but should?ve been more juicer! The saffron ice cream was such a new and unique concept reminds me alot of Arabic booza! If anything, I really wish more rice came with portion, the meat to rice ratio is not balanced. Veryfriendly waiter ! Read more
