The service is always hit or miss and the staff in general are not friendly and have no sense of urgency. Maybe it?s not a happy... work environment? In that case it?s a management issue. Great place. The drinks aren't unnecessarily sweet. The hot latte was not scalding hot, so you could actually drink it when you... got it. The carrot cake was lovely, especially the sour cream cream on top. The other bakery goods were also not too sweet. Irecommend the almondine. The staff was friendly. former ex employee, this place is poorly managed. The manger attitude is super foul. He makes working here unbearable, it feels... like suffocation. The turn over rate at this place is so high, max 3 months. Several girls have left. The manger does not listento the workers requests, everything has to be done "his way". Three employees have left in one single month, many of us are toonervous to speak up, some are still working there. Theres so many google complaints about how the employees working here are nothappy, its literally because we are always on edge. There has been several incidences were I was about to cry. Living around the corner, this is usually my go-to neighbourhood spot. The regular staff (older man with glasses and a taller... man) are great - friendly, professional, welcoming. However, two new staff lately have been unprofessional - loudly gossipingand just being way too casual in their customer communication. I've seen them basically yell questions at customers becausethey're forgetting orders - like, "What are you waiting for?" to people across the cafe - and then turn around and laugh witheach other. It feels rude, disruptive and unpleasant. On top of that, I can see clearly they're making orders and then justleaving things lying around to chat instead of cleaning up. They look quite young so probably need a few extra days of trainingand more oversight from their manager. Until then, I won't be coming back much. Read more

My wife and I arrived at 16:45, ordered a hot drink each and a couple of pieces of cake that we sat down to enjoy. 10 minutes... later we were (rudely) asked to finish up as they were closing the shop soon. 5pm came and we were reminded (again rudely) toplease leave. I asked if i could use the restroom before leaving and, after a few seconds of silence, was reluctantly told yes.The most annoying thing was when leaving the shop, I was told to 'have a nice day' by the person who instructed us toleave!!! I don't think I've ever posted a bad review before, I never normally waste my time, but I didn't want to let thisexperience go without saying something. Note to Owner/Manager: I would recommend that your team provide a more friendly way towarn paying customers they can only stay until 5pm, prior to being thrown out. You might also consider allowing customers tofinish up whilst your team are cleaning other parts of the shop. Read more
