Lovely selection of pastries ranging from sweet to savoury, and many with asian influenced ingredients! The cha siu bao was ok,... but the dough itself was a bit dense and the filling was dry - just chunks of meat. Would be better if the filling was a bitjammier along with the meat. The peach donut was good, but I found the amount of icing on top to be a bit overwhelmingly sweet.The butter tarts were perfection though. Also recommend the foccacia. I?ve heard a lot of good things from friends about thesourdough, so I will be back to try them! Read more
The galettes here are fantastic. I had the corn cheddar - not much in the way of cheddar flavour, but the corn was bright and... sweet, and the pastry is par excellence. I?ll be back to try more! Read more
First time today. It was great! Tried the curry beef bun and the char sui bun, got a loaf of bread, butter tarts, a cookie and a... black forest cake. I've tasted all of it but the black forest which I'm sure is delicious too. The buns had a wonderful cleanflavour, the cookie was a salty sweet treat and the butter tart was crisp and raisin free (the way I like it). The loaf isgenerously sized with a mild sour dough tang. The butter tarts are really awesome and ooey gooey - hard to find ones that make a lasting impression and leave you yearning for... more (or reminisce the ones offered in cottage country). The onion foccacia was delicious and flavourful. Can't wait until mynext visit! Read more
I always look like a maniac carrying at least three loaves of bread on me walking out of here, but I'm willing to lose my... dignity for this stuff. Definitely one of my top choices for sourdough in the area, the focaccia is also excellent! Read more
Cookies are so good with a salty bite. Butter tarts are flaky and caramelized along the edges. So very very good! Sour dough... bread is good too, but it was over baked so very hard to cut at home. Maybe just this batch? Hard to find as they don?t have astore sign?just look for the number. Cookies and tarts are a definite repeat purchase! Read more
Have ordered multiple times for the country loaf. Would recommend! Bread is one of the best in the city- freshly baked, crunchy... on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. The odd time the bottom is a little burnt but otherwise fairly consistent. Alsogot the char siu buns and mushroom galette. Mushroom galette is very rich and buttery, pastry-like. Tasty treats. The cashier communicated well that I would have to wait for her to make a coffee for a previous customer and made... it up to me later by giving me a free cookie! Now that's customer service! Looks like it's takeout only with no seating. Foodruns out very quickly, though, and very few options are still available at 2:00 p.m. on a weekday. Read more
