Reviews for Oyshi Sushi in Toronto, ON
A small, family-run Japanese restaurant near the Scotia Arena and not far from the Rogers Centre. It has a few private booths as... well as a handful of tables. The food is excellent and the fish is always fresh and tasty. The chefs have many decades ofexperience in Japanese cuisine and it shows in their food. Best reserve if nearby events are scheduled. Lady was nice. And easy to order. I called and order take out. Ordered a chirashi don. But was given a Sake Don which is... cheaper. :( I already left so couldn't return. Disappointing Read more
Great atmosphere in this place, they have little walled off booths for up to 4 people. I got the sake dome and the fish was... yummy with a big serving of tasty sushi rice as well. Our server was really friendly! Read more
Place was busy, we had to wait 5 minutes to be seated. The hostess attitude was very pleasant, all servers extremely polite and... helpful. The salad was so fresh, lettuce so crunchy, taste wonderful. Sushi and sushimi was very fresh and delicious. Will comeback again. Why not 5 stars? The place a little cramped and interior dated. The first thing I noticed was that the workers are very, very, human. They do not hide behind a mask of professionalism, but... instead feel like they are actually serving you. The sashimi we ordered was very fresh and the arrangement was pretty, but thefish was lacking some of its fishiness -- flavour. Otherwise, the food was good. We ordered some plum wine, and the waitressjoked about us looking fairly young, but that's not a complaint and it was delicious. I would definitely visit again. A hiddengem. The actual restaurant is also very nicely decorated, with the booths each having their own curtains and walls. Read more
One of the best places downtown. Great service and they always give me free miso soup ???? I also really like the privacy. The... sushi is so damn good and I highly recommend the salmon teriyaki. Definitely worth the price. Read more
This small and cozy restaurant located in a side alley is easily missed unless you are looking for it, even more since there are... construction nearby. The interior decor gives a nice Japanese vibe, while the food tasted fresh. Read more
Great small cozy Restaurant. The Restaurant 4/5: Really cozy but a bit too small. But the food makes up for the lack of space... and tightness. Gives it a bit of a vintage Japanese restaurant feel. The Service 4/5: waitress was really friendly and nice. Idid get charged for an extra pop but I didn?t mind too much. The Food 5/5: Amazing food. Rolls were over size but who complainsabout more food. Fish was really fresh, along with the salad and miso soup. Sushi pizza wasn?t deep fried so that was great.Tempura had perfect batter and seasoning. Overall 4/5: Would come back and definitely recommend. Read more
