Cannot say enough about Lox & Schmear, the best smoked fish in the city! The smoked trout salad on potato chips? Unmatched. When... they have potato salad in the summer, I will eat an entire tub by myself. Their lox has spoiled me for all other lox (mypersonal favourite is the pastrami lox) and the mac and cheese is the best thing you can put in your freezer for whenever youhave a case of the blues. Lev has saved me before many a cottage weekend by stocking me up with everything I need for a goodspread ? if you need to pick something up on a day they?re not open, just send them an email! I?ve been *loving* the sandwichesnow that they?re doing them again ? the Lev Special with dill pickle chips and jalapeños is particularly inspired. Absolute gemof a spot! Read more
Indescribable feelings have been rare for me these days, but will always remember the feeling of falling in love, being newly... wed and of course a victory in a big game. Somehow, getting lox and so much more from Lox + Schmear has created a similarfeeling which has continued for the years I have frequented this gem. Lev is a magician. And the fish is smoking right beforeyour eyes too which I never have seen anywhere, especially not in the bagel store (or Costco) freezer where rookies continue toget their lox from. My favourites are the smoked trout salad, the vacuum packed smoked trout, obviously the lox in all formstoo, the fancy bagel sandwich (**sandwiches available only Fridays 9am- end of business Sunday). Takeout only. Worth it worth itworth it. Pretty excited to try their new snack mix. Yes, clearly food has taken a central role in my life these days, but atleast I have great taste. Lox + Schmear is my go to place for smoked fish, bagels, and sides. The sandwiches and items are seriously good and a must try.... I can't really pin point a favourite because all of it is good but if you try a sandwich, the Lev is AMAZING. I look forward tomy lunches now and this was tough because I can't have dairy or gluten. There are amazing options here for that and also, Levand the Lox + Schmear team are just awesome people! Read more
Delicious and most importantly - not salty af! ? Perfectly balanced flavors. I love the Lev's bagel with its pickled jalapenos... and dill pickle potato chips. The Fancy Fancy bagel sat out for an hour or so and got soaked because of either the waterytomatoes and/or the cucumbers. Eat it right away is the moral of the story there. Read more
Your life won?t be complete without Lox and Schmear. I am never without several packs of their smoked salmon, smoked trout, and... pickled onions and capers. Their smoked trout salad is my favourite afternoon snack, and their freshly baked babkas are mindblowing. It?s obvious how much love and care goes into their food. Lox and Schmear will allow you to step up your brunch game,and will bring so much joy into your life. Also, Lev is a wonderful human. So it?s a win win! Read more

Love the sandwiches , lox is top notch. Not a fan of the bagel itself (Montreal style) but still a great spot. Tahini chocolate... chip cookies are amaaaazing. Read more
