It was a perfect Sunday evening at La Palma and it wasn't busy(for once!) We had a fantastic table up top and great service by... the bartender/server. The lamb was perfect and so was the lasagne. Beautiful establishment with awesome handsoap in therestrooms. Read more
Really great experience at La Palma. First time trying this restaurant. We were seated in the indoor upstairs section. Really... beautiful interior and nice looking patio upstairs. Our server, Rebecca, was excellent, prompt, friendly and efficient. Weordered the 100 layer lasagna, steak with crispy potatoes (highly recommend these two items), blueberry tart and dark chocolatetort (also recommend this dessert, it has candied salted hazelnuts on top which make the dessert so delicious). Also had thePink Foamy cocktail which I enjoyed (gin based with a strong flavour and nice foam egg white). Can't wait to go back and trysome of the other dishes and cocktails. We came here right when they open on a Saturday with no reservation and the host was very kind to find us a table on the spot.... Service overall was amazing. Would recommend the pate for appetizer - super creamy and rich. The lasagna is a classic which isalso worth trying. They rotate their cocktails seasonally which can be a hit or miss, but they did a very good espresso martini.A good selection for desserts. Read more
This is such a beautiful place. The aesthetics are very pretty, simple and clean . The food is excellent and delicious. Staff... are friendly but we waited a very long time for our food.. at least our appetizer. They had sent our food to the wrong table. Wecould've been compensated for the wait.. at the very least a free/discounted item/dessert. But other than that, the lasagna wasmagnificent. Read more
Great spot for date night or intimate dinner with friends. The dining area is bright and gives west coast vibes with the garage... door windows. I really enjoyed the vegetable side dishes, specifically the broccolini and the mushroom dish. The appetizerswere good as well. We got the tuna crudo and used our order of bread to dip in the oil/sauce. We split the fish and it washonestly really bland and is the reason I took a star off. It came with a side of spinach that had more flavour than thefish. I would definitely consider coming here again for a special occasion! Read more
The food was good but for my lamb chops and my friend’s steak, the waiter didn’t ask how we would like them done. So my... friend asked for it to be done medium rare when the water was checking our order. The waiter told us that the chef cooks thesteak and chops to their best temperature? So I didn’t point out how I’d like my lamb chop to be cooked. When it came out,it was like RARE. It was good, but I guess just in case the customers don’t love rare, it’d be great if the question wasasked. On top of that, I didn’t love the service and our waiter seemed like he was more interested in tasting various winesat the bar that was right in my vision. When one of the helping waiters brought out the wrong dishes to our table, he wasvisibly annoyed and proceeded to take those dishes away aggressively which hit our friend’s water glass. I don’t know, Ithink maybe for a well established restaurant like this, I kind of expected a little more…better? Especially because we had a5:30 reservation and it didn’t get busy until half way through our dining. The food was good though. I think the pasta withthe pine nuts actually was the best. Read more
