Reviews for KOKO Share Bar in Toronto, ON
We are here in downtown Toronto for 10 days, everyday we have tried many different restaurants and this one didn’t meet our... standards in terms of a enjoyable restaurant. Service wasn’t very welcoming and felt very awkward. There were no pictures onthe website menu which made ordering very hard. The price was too high for the amount of food we got and the sushi felt like itwasn’t made properly. Fish was fresh but the amount of wasabi and ginger was so little for a group of 3. The mandatory 18%tips makes it hard to make a compelling argument. Read more
We absolutely love koko share bar. Our family comes here about once a week. Our favorite dishes are the Sashimi dinner-tako... sushi and hamachi sushi-volcano roll! We can never get enough! Thank you so much to the very attentive staff there, you alwaysmake our meal extra special. Read more
Came here for lunch on the patio. The service was good and the food was pretty good too. The price of food is way too high for... what it's worth but that's what you get in Yorkville. Probably worth going to Korean town for the same quality food at a betterprice. Read more
While this place has had rave reviews on here and OpenTable, we were severely disappointed with our experience. The night we... went, there was another larger group of 8-10 people who were clearly well fed and catered to. The rest of the tables suffered asa result. Drinks were very slow to come out, had the lemon gin drink and it was very watered down, asked for a beer and it nevercame, and the torched sushi wasn’t very torched at all. The only highlight is the bossam (pictured), the meats were wellseasoned and it was plenty of food for two people. Even then could we have gone to Korean bbq instead? Yes absolutely we couldhave. I wouldn’t recommend this place. Read more
And in a very unlike me manner, we also didn’t share at the Share Bar. It didn’t stop me from ordering the salmon aburi... sushi ($20) to start, the rice adorned with thick cuts of salmon topped with lime aioli. At KOKO, there was just enough of themayo to take on a hint of smokiness and to add a splash of creaminess without making the sushi greasy. I would have liked somestronger finishing ingredients to create more interest – like the customary jalapeno slice, a dab of chopped olives, or even asprinkling of green onions. The aburi was good but lacked pizazz. Based on my friend’s recommendation (and plenty of otherreviewers), I had to try KOKO’s roasted miso black cod ($36). It’s a solid dish but with a few changes could be even better:including some of the miso sauce on the side for those who want a more flavourful fish or to pour over the steamed rice, removing some of the cod’s bones to make it easier to cut into (even the large shards were left behind), and roasting the skinlonger so that it becomes crispier. Still, I appreciated the decent sized piece of black cod, which was fresh and flaky andthere was a nice variety of vegetables included to create a balanced and healthy meal. If only there was more seasoning on thevegetables that seemed to be merely steamed. Read more
Amazing food, service, and ambience. We ordered 5 different things and each one was better than anything we ever had. 10/10... recommend the bibimbap and this restaurant as a whole. Read more
The location is great. Patio is actually right on the road and you are eating beside a one way traffic( lots of very noisey cars... and motorcycles in the area, not the restaurant's fault). The food is actually kind of boring, you have the standard Japanese,Korean foods such as sushi, udon, seafood pancake, kalbi. The tempera Udon is really good, and my kids like it. The sashimi andthe miso cod are OK at best. The worst dish we had is the seafood pancake. Usually people either look for fluffness orcrispness in Korean pancakes, I appreciate both. However, the one here manage to be neither. I think the pancake was made a bittoo thick and it was also undercooked because the green onions are very raw, also i was not aware that we have a seafoodshortage. ???? Service is pretty good considering everyone was busy. However when paying by card, they just punched in the tipand taped my card without asking. It's not like they put too much, a modest 15%, I'd probably go with 18 or 20 myself, but it'skind odd that they just did it without asking. Read more
The food is good, had the salmon lovers set. Good portion and the salmon was fresh. My husband had the bulgogi, the meat was... nicely marinated - the best he has had (and we have been to many places). It is on the pricier side but nice once in a while.Friendly staff. Read more
