Was happy to find J?s and we?re greeted by J at the door and promptly seated at our table. Service was friendly and efficient.... The menu is simple and an amazing value and delicious. The steak was perfectly prepared and was a good size. The butter saucewas freshly made and delectable. The fries were so good and we even had seconds. And to top it all was the individually made andfreshly prepared sticky date toffee pudding. Can?t wait to come back. A real Toronto gem. Read more

This place is definitely worth trying if you are in the mood for a good steak and don?t want to spend a crazy amount. It?s 50$... for a bread and butter, salad, steak & fries and a sauce. Only the fries is unlimited and are not the best fries the only reasonthey were okay was because the sauce they come with is very good with them. i do feel like they should be using a better kind offries since it is the only side you can get with the steak and they should not use the cheapest fries because that?s the onlything that?s unlimited. The salad was good but they only put like 3 walnuts on it. The steak was very good and tender. It wouldbe nice if the bread and sauce was unlimited as all, as they only bring one small ramekin of sauce for 2 people. Overall wouldcome back as the steak and sauce was good! Read more

Great steakhouse in Toronto. Warm and cozy atmosphere. The staff are excellent and attentive. Our steaks were tender, tasty and... cooked to perfection. The owners recommendation for wine was perfect for the meal. The sides of fries, salad, and bread were allamazing. To top off the great meal you must try the desserts. It was hard to choose which one to take as they were all unique. We?re definitely coming back. Read more

There are two reasons why one would typically revisit a restaurant. 1- the service and friendliness of the staff and 2- the... food. J's Restaurant is an example where yould want to go back for both reasons. Got to say, have been to many restaurantslately. Found that here the staff go above and beyond to try and help out, and not like a typical restaurant where you have oneserver, the entire staff is really helpful and willing to help out. The salad was unexpectedly really good, and the roastedwalnuts were just amazing. The main was steak "obviously" medium well, cooked to perfection. The meat was really nice, just abit on the greasy side for me. The non-stop supply of frites was the cherry on top of the icing in terms of the overall meal. And those "joie" condiments dispensers were absolutely cute. Unfortunately we were towards the end of the day, so weren't ableto try out their desserts :( Finally, shout out to Jad!! He made the whole experience much more memorable and enjoyable. Read more

I don?t normally write reviews but this place really deserves one. It is the definition of a well-executed, top dining... experience, in my opinion. This is a new location and is fairly lowkey and easy to miss. The interior is quaint and elegant, with brick walls and marble tabletops. As the name implies, J?s serves steak frites and only steak frites, in the form of a 3course set that includes bread & salad, main and dessert. And they sure do it well - the steak is served to your liking on acandle-warmed dish. We had medium rare, and it is no exaggeration to say that it was one of the most tender steaks I?ve had in arestaurant. It?s no wagyu, but it comes close. Seasoning was on point as well, and the dipping sauce has a unique tanginess toit. They offer unlimited fries, and a fresh bread basket. Both were very good, but the dessert truly deserves a specialmention. Apparently the dessert chef is Le Cordon Bleu trained, and it showed in the amazing chocolate brownie we had. Wine andbeverage selection is extensive, and the atmosphere is fantastic. The entire catering team is dedicated to creating a greatdining experience and it really shows. On the pricier side (we spent around $70/person) but was well worth it. I came from outof town to try this place and would absolutely visit again on another special occasion. Read more
