I had Jaclyn's today for the first time and WOW was I blown away. The cutomer service was great! The curry goat was the best i... have ever had, tender and flavoured perfectly. The jerk chicken sandwhich was just spicy enough and it was served on a soft bun, highly recommended the jerk sandwhich. First time visitor at Jaclyn's. Ate here before going to a show at History. Ordered the Bbq chicken as it had great reviews... online and can say that I'm now one of the many who also recommends this dish! Portions were generous and it came with extrasauce on the side which I was happy about. Plantains were delicious too! Friendly staff and good food, would love to try theshrimp or oxtail next :-) Read more
Craving jerk pork. Regular spot I go too chnaged owners food is not the same. Back in the a day when The Real Jerk was at... Broadview/Queen food was awesome. Newer location at Carlaw, food is unpredictable with take out. Quality of food is gone down.Never know what you will open your container and see. Dry food. Google Caribbean food in the area I was in tonight. Queen andCoxwell. Came across this establishment. Let me tell you, food was fresh and lots of flavour. Ordered jerk chicken( rightamount of spices)4, curry chicken roti (filled with potatoe and channa) and coleslaw (creamy) Nothing disappointing. Employeesare friendly. I went to Jaclyn's a few weeks ago before going to a show at History, and the chicken I got was just unforgettable. I got the... BBQ flavour chicken, and damn that was delicious. The well-cooked chicken juice & the sweet BBQ sauce locked in melted in mymouth, along with the rice & beans. Man, that was such a treat. I do love jerk chicken, but I was feeling something sweeterthan spicy. I'm looking forward to my next visit to the Jaclyn & trying everything else on the menu. Oh also - amazing folksworking at the Jaclyn's. Full of love, and you can really taste it from the food Read more

THE BEST GOAT ROTI I HAVE EVER HAD. I love goat curry and anytime I eat at a West Indian restaurant, it's goat. As such, I have... tried many a dishes with goat. This goat roti is BY FAR the best and I caught myself having moments of "this is justincredible". Here's why it's so good: The roti skin itself is dhalpuri-style with the ground yellow split peas within addingflavour and texture. The roti is filled plentifully with chickpeas, potatoes and goat. There is a nice balance of chickpeas andpotatoes so it doesn't feel like you're getting too much of one or the other or that those ingredients are trying to make theroti feel 'stuffed'. As for the goat, there were perhaps 6-7 pieces (plenty!) of 1-1.25 inch cubes, tender and moist, qualitymeat; often the goat can be overdone and dry. What stood out to me immediately after cutting into the roti was how "juicy" itwas (extra gravy). The gravy's liquidity has the right consistency of not being too thick or thin. The amount was neither toomuch or too little, allowing every bite of roti skin to have a warm layer of gravy. The gravy had a balanced richness of flavourwithout being too salty or spicy or whatever. There is only one option for hot sauce - yes or no; no silliness of varying heatlevels. The hot sauce adds a small amount of heat and tang to add another dimension of flavour, without becoming overwhelmingheat that takes away from everything else. While many restaurants offer all of these qualities, they haven't been presented ALLTOGETHER. It is phenomenal. I had to let the restaurant know how great the goat roti was. The one woman taking orders wasdelighted to hear the compliment and explained how Jaclyn (owner) and Chris are the cooks. When Jaclyn herself received mycompliment, she replied with a smile and very humble "thank you". If I am out in The Beaches neighbourhood, I will be makingevery effort to come to Jaclyn's. So should you. Read more
