Reviews for Imanishi Japanese Kitchen in Toronto, ON
I ordered the corn kakiage to start. It was very crispy and paired really well with the refreshing yuzu beer. The gyudon was... super flavourful and the umami flavours was enhanced by the red snapper miso soup. I had the Tokyo toast for dessert and it wasso good. I liked the toasted rice because it contrasted with the sweet taro ice cream. The staff was friendly. I would give them5 stars if the corn kakiage came with a dipping sauce! Read more
Kind service and fantastic recommendations. I also like the eclectic, American nostalgia vibe. Ribs in wasabi sauce are epic!... Also their cucumbers remind me of my grandma?s. Sapporo on tap is always good Read more

SO. DAMN. GOOD. Everything we are was 10/10 aka you will not be disappointed. Loved the vibe, low key , hip, intimate but in a... casual way?Pictured is the shrimp, cilantro salad, silken tofu and avo salad and red snapper. Also had the curry spring rolls, corn karaage and of course dessert: fried Japanese milk bread with taro ice cream. Run don?t walk. Read more

We came here for date night on a weekday at 8 pm and waited 15 minutes for a table at the bar. We ordered sashimi, fish jerky,... baguette with monkfish liver, ebi fry, ramen, beef curry, and two drinks. Sashimi - scallops, red snapper, and hamachi. It wasfresh and melted in your mouth. Fish jerky - which was my favourite. It tasted like dried squid snacks. It was sweet, lightlysalty, and well-marinated. Monkfish liver is also known as the foie gras of the sea and a Japanese delicacy. We enjoyed howwell toasted the baguette was - still soft with a crispy edge, and how subtle the flavour of the pate. Each ebi fry piece wasbigger than we expected. It was shrimp tempura, but each shrimp was fried perfectly. Nagoya ramen - spicy chicken broth; we'drate it moderate on the spicy level. The ramen noodles were very nice. Beef curry - chicken and beef stock curry on rice wasgood. To end it off, we ordered a Tokyo toast, milk bread deep fried in sugar with ice cream on top. Honestly, I could haveeaten seconds of this because it was one of the best dessert toasts I've had. We had a great experience at Imanishi and leftfull. Service was quick and courteous, and the staff was well-knowledgeable and recommended great dishes and drinks. Read more
