This restaurant is fantastic! The food was excellent and the service was the same. We ordered the chicken parmigiana and lamb... shank and we were not disappointed. One of the best Italian cuisine that you can get in Toronto. Their pesto pasta is amazingly delicious with tons of cheese. Pasta... Alfredo is amazeballs as well just ask them to make it spicy. Fresh bread that they serve as side dish is the perfectcombination to their pasta. Must visit if you love Italian food. Read more
The food was good, the service less than stellar. It's a good spot for Italian food in the heart of the entertainment district... perfect for a business lunch or dinner prior to catching a show. The open kitchen with a wood oven features prominently in theback corner. The atmosphere has a subdued elegance yet laid back feel to it. I found the butternut squash risotto to beexcellent accentuated by crispy prosciutto. If only service could improve where the food could come out quicker especially overthe lunch hour and the server could hopefully show a bit more character. Read more
A staple Italian eatery known for it's traditional pizza oven and classic Napolitano dishes. Service was good with attention... paid to serving on the correct side and not reaching over other diners. Probably the only thing I enjoyed from the winterlicious preset menu was the goat cheese arugla salad . It was my first time... exploring what a lamb shank tasted like, and didn't really enjoy it. It looked as was described, fell off the bone, but perhapsI was expecting something juicier and plump. The mashed potatoes under the lamb were average at best. The portions were a greatsize this year though. The only reason I'd rate this place at all was because the service was excellent. Food came hot andprompt. We went to celebrate an early birthday for a family member DURING winterlicious and our server was so kind andaccommodating. She even put a candle on the dessert. On several occasions one of the family members changed their mind on theirchoice for the preset menu and she did her best to accommodate those requests as well. We went to Il Fornello for our department's Holiday gathering with a large team of 20+ colleagues. The service was great and... friendly. The food was tasty, reasonable portion size and good. This is a perfect location to get an affordable lunch/dinnerand walk to one of the theatres in the neighborhood. I recommend the Pizza (all are good) and the spicy mussels! Read more
Great selection of pizzas, pastas and meat options! Il Fornello has been around for years and there are many chains. They have... promos at times such as $5 pizzas and prix fix lunch menu. My favourite is their tiramisu!! SO good! Read more
Great restaurant! Went there with my girlfriend and it was really good. I love the vibe there, it’s fancy but still simple.... The staff is super friendly and efficient. The menu is great. Lots of choices for vegan or gluten-free people. Prices arehonest. They could change their wine selection though ... I recommend this place in Riverdale! Read more
