Reviews for Hapa Toronto in Toronto, ON
My first trip to Toronto was fantastic mainly because of this Gem of a place. It's very accessible via the public... transportation. The prices were great. We also arrived during happy hour. Oysters, sushi, fried chicken and much more wereexcellent. The food on offer were absolutely stellar. My girlfriend said it reminded her a vibe of a Japanese restaurant inTokyo. P.S. There are a few TVs that play anime, which is awesome. Towards the end of our time there the manager came over andwe had shots together. It was so fun. Read more
Great food options, lively music and an awesome atmosphere (even on Sundays!). Most importantly, the staff are absolutely... amazing and so welcoming! Ray made sure we were okay and safe when we were approached by a group of men, she checked in and madeus feel very safe the whole night. I really appreciated her doing that. The bar manager also held our larger belongings for uswhile we dined and danced. Definitely recommend! Read more
Great food and experience. We liked the Jerk chicken tacos, truffle hot stone bow thing, karage. We could probably pass on the... tuna Aburi, and salad. The spicy marg was delicious. Service was good. They have a dj on Thursday when we went. Read more
I randomly booked this restaurant for a large group for my bachelor-bachelorette party and man, this place did not disappoint.... Easy to reserve with them, unique tasty menu items, relatively fair prices, and SERVICE WAS PHENOMENAL. Also ALL the staff here(servers, kitchen, and security) are so nice (and good-looking!) If you're looking for authentic Japanese food, you've come to the wrong place! The vibes were good but I wouldn't recommend... sitting by the patio because of all the dust from the road. We came during Taste of Little Italy so we got a nice view of thefestival, though. Anyway, on to the food. The jerk tacos are supposed to be the highlight here but I found the meat really dryand it didn't have the characteristic tenderness or jerk spice. The spicy salmon roll was caked in mayo - tasty, but you couldhardly taste anything else. The wasabi paste on the plate also had an oddly hard texture and was not spicy at all. My favoritewas probably the karaage, which did not look appetizing with its anemic shape, but turned out to be pretty crispy and delicious.Next best was the wasabi caesar salad and it had the right amount of spicy kick to it. Cocktails were terribly expensive and myHello Kitty tasted like fruit punch. I would have just opted for water. Happy hours made the prices a touch cheaper andtolerable. I would not come here outside happy hours. Read more
Celebrated a birthday here and the staff were so attentive and courteous. They brought my friend tissues and water when she... spilt ketchup on her pants. They even brought over knife and plates for us to cut and serve our own cake. ( both of which wedidn't even ask - they just did it!). Would recommend going back for great fusion Asian food. Great patio space and awesomemusic. Read more
