Unfortunately, a big letdown. From the outside and the decor, it looked like it would be worth a try. However, while service... was sort of okay, the food was not. Literally, the least spicy and most flavourless satay I've ever had, as was the beef curry. Had to dump half of their container of chili sambal into the food to liven it up a bit. Read more
Wow, what a amazing experience. Great ambience waits for you, as you enter the premises but the excitement just about to roll in... the form of our server Meheret. She truly exemplifies the qualities of a awesome listener, full of positive menu suggestionsand above all a refreshing change from the norm. The food was truly the best, as the previous patrons suggested. They kept thefreshness and taste of all ingredients very obvious in all the dishes. Great ambient and very clean place . . The owner Joe and Dennis are very friendly .they welcome us and had the time to sit down... with us ..even when the takeout was busy . We enjoyed the satay chicken and shrimp ???? along with the peanut sauce . ordermango salad which was sweet and sour perfectly balanced ????. Tom yum soup was nice and very savory For the main course Weorder beef stir fry noodles my daughter loved it . . We got the spicy crispy beef very crispy and flavourful. I was staying down at the beaches in an Air B N B and this place was walking distance on Queen street. I ordered the spring... rolls, lemon ???? shrimp ???? soup and the Thai chicken fried rice. It took a 15 minutes to make so it wasn?t that long. Staffwas friendly and because of Covid, still a little slow. The soup tasted a little sweet to me. The rice was tasty, a little onthe salty side. My family and I are Thai food lovers. We have been to Green Basil a couple of times before (pre-pandemic). We came on a Friday... night just 45 minutes before they were closing. I believe it was the owner that seated us. He was all smiles and super friendlyas we chatted about Thai food. We ordered a few dishes. Everything we ordered was great - Basil veggie fried rice, Fried Tofuwith veggies, Green curry chicken, and chicken satay. Service was great too. Green Basil continues to be a regular stop for uswhen we are in the area! Read more
