A high end Canadian style restaurant with nice cocktails and food. Overall I found it a like overpriced but I enjoyed my meal... overall. I had a special cocktail that the bartender made and it was fantastic - a little spicy and sweet; it had a nicegingery kick that cooled your palette. I had oysters to start but it was expensive for the size (they were really small) butthey had a really good hot sauce with it. For the entree I had the lamb shank and that was fabulous! I would highly recommendit. However for a restaurant called Cru (raw in french) I expected higher quality seafood. Read more

I frequent this restaurant on a weekly basis and every time I’m there there’s something new to keep me coming back. The food... is fantastic and the kitchen is always adding something fun and new to the menu. The drinks are extremely well made and theyhave a great wine selection. The service here is first class and the entire staff and team really know how to take care of theircustomers. 10/10 highly recommend! Read more

I was expecting to like CRU, service was courteous as well as friendly. Service makes or breaks a restaurant experience. Inside... - great decor and great ambiance. The seating is so comfortable and you don't feel rushed out at all. Food - it doesn't looklike a lot, but trust me - it's enough. The scallops were excellent. Soft and tender with great flavors. It came on top ofspaghetti squash which was good as well but very rich and buttery so we left half of it on the plate. The fried sprouts thatcome with it were delicious too. So I will definitely come back here. Read more

Amazing! Staff was super nice and came around the table frequently enough that we were never waiting for them but not too... frequently as to be annoying. The atmosphere was very chill and it wasn't crazy busy on a Friday afternoon/evening. Highlyrecommend the mango crème brûlée, as well as the Baffin island turbot (probably some of the best fish I've ever had) and thescallops. Lastly they had a very competitive wine list and educated staff on the varitals. WILL go again! Read more

The food was okay but over priced for what you get. The bartender made a good recommendation for a shot we wanted. Burrata was... yummy, asparagus was plain, charcuterie was less food than I thought. Service was amazing, 100% attentive and great staff. Read more

Myself and guests around me were complaining it was too dark and themenu font was too small to read. The service is great to excellent. In time it will be awesome The photos doesnt do the foodjustice Read more

CRU’s menu now straddles a variety of proteins and cultures. Items such as the burrata ($19) and brown butter gnocchi ($23)... have an Italian influence, although updated with different spices. The burrata is covered with a date compote, honey, tangyza’atar seasoning, and tons of micro greens to give the creamy cheese a Middle Eastern flair. It’s rather refreshing, butbetter suited for summer months; I was craving something more comforting and sinful. The brown butter gnocchi ($23) was moresatisfying – well flavoured plump soft nuggets in a savoury brown butter sauce with earthy chestnuts, crunchy lightly pickledcauliflower, and briny capers thrown in. The gnocchi is a richer dish and works well for sharing. Their starters are the moreadventurous options. Thumbnail sized caviar doughnuts (complimentary order shown below; normal order is $16) takes a dense cakebatter and glazes it with sweet crème fraiche. It’s kept savoury by decorating the pastry with radish, chives, and, ofcourse, caviar. If you like sweet and salty combinations, this one will blow the typical bacon and maple glaze version out ofthe water. I was actually fooled by the vegan ‘nduja (complimentary order shown below; normal order is $11) where the spicysalty spread did taste like the pork version – the only difference being it was much smoother. Topped on crispy grilled bread, slices of pickled fennel and dill were a good attempt to balance out the powerful spread. If the smokiness was toned down a bit,the ‘nduja may be even better. CRU’s mains were definitely what impressed our table with the aged duck breast ($29) beingthe favourite. The combination of gamey duck meat, thin sliver of fat, and well rendered crispy skin made for a tasty bite. Asthe juices and fat melded together on my taste buds, I instantly wanted another bite. Paired with soft confit squash and somepumpkin seed crumble, the dish definitely had a fall/winter flair. Read more
