Great place for live music.
I had a great time at Castro's Lounge. I went to see Staig and Billings on a Friday night. I was late for the show walked... though it to get to the bar. Once at the bar, the staff and regulars were really friendly. By the end of the evening, Ithought "Norm" was going to walk in. Definitely will go back again. Castro's is a small simple bar that delivers on what you want: happy smiling faces, friendly service, entertainment and a lively... atmosphere, in a dark, hardwood space. Occupying a neat seat in East Beaches, Toronto. This is the liveliest place betweenLeslie & Victoria Park. With a sizable popup patio on the street, and live music seemingly nightly. I happen to be a local as oflate, and I do plan to frequent. Go for a casual good time! I have yet to sample any food menu of theirs, but will enjoyto. Octopus wants to fight!!! Read more
Very nice place!! There is a performance every friday. You can dance with people.
I felt discriminated, first nobody took my order or come to my table, nobody clean it but they attend the others tables, and... asked the other costumers how was everything. I have to asked for a beer, and the waitress just gave me that in a bad manner.I?m very polite so just drink my beer and left this racist place. Castro must be angry to know about this place. Great ambience! Basic drink menu. Unfortunately no food was available on the day we went. Loved the pictures on the walls!!!!

Loved Castro's ... walls plastered with framed, iconic photos with a definite Cold War theme - and, yes, mucho photos of Fidel... Castro and Che Guevara - with brick walls and an all-glass front wall opening onto a sidewalk patio, Castro's is bright, homey,cozy, warm, and inviting. The staff is super friendly, and they offer a great selection of beer, wine, spirits, and snacks. Iwas there to see an incredible trio called The Opera Revue ... it was really amazing to see and hear these accomplished artistssinging opera in such an intimate space ... And of course, located in the heart of the Beaches, you almost feel like you're in asmall cottage town just a stone's throw from the waterfront ... Castro's - I'll be back again! ???? Read more
