Reviews for BIWON Korean Restaurant in Toronto, ON

The 5 star reviews or anything higher than 1 star in this restaurant are misleading. I?m an avid fan of Korean food and please... believe me when I say the quality and taste of the dishes are equally just as bad. The Korean Wings have extremely thickenedflour and super bland and dry. The pancake is tasteless and soggy. The stir fry pork and EXTREMELY salty. We couldn?t finish thedish.???? No one could eat it. The food here either lacks flavor or is super salty. This is not how other korean restaurantshave. I am not sure what the hype is but I am guessing people who give it 5-stars don?t know how a proper Korean food shouldtaste like or they?ve been blinded by the quality because they find the prices affordable? The prices are average and similar tothose other awesome Korean restos in the city. Anyhow, Please don?t waste your money. ???????? The only thing that was good herewas the customer service, staff is great and that is all. Read more

I would not come here again. First, about the waiters. It?s not the waiters fault. They were the best part of this experience.... The food arrived to our table within 10 minutes of ordering so I was really pleased with that. But the waiters, did nothingwrong, was scolded by a lady in the back of the restaurant for along time while my friend and I were dining. Everyone could seeand hear them. I hope the waiters find better work environment soon because this is just wrong. Second, about the food. I don?tknow where to begin. But don?t trust the reviews (at least not all of them). They have a free drink policy where if you leave areview, you get a free drink. They also cooked they soup with what I think a whole tub of salt. I had never had so much salt ina soup. Now you can see the whole picture: people see the review -> come to the place -> has really salty and just in generalnot so amazing soup and other items -> thirsty and want a drink but don?t wanna pay another penny to this restaurant -> leaves areview so they can get a drink for free -> more people see the review and come to have food. It?s a whole business cycle andthey nailed it. I really don?t wanna bash on it too much, ultimately maybe people do like their food and I?m just the odd oneout. But I really have to admit, I had so many Korean food from so many places, this is honestly the worst one. The pork was sodry, if you told me I was choosing an eraser, I would?ve believed you. Soup was salty, we covered that. Fried chicken was justnot Korean fried chicken, the sauce was also not normal, surprisingly really vinegary. Just look at the batter, it?s not great. The potato pancake was flavourless and literally was bathing in a plate of oil when it arrived to the table. When my friend andI left, we could see all the three tables that we passed by on the way out, every one of them had at least 1/3 food left on thetable. People literally did not even care to pack it up and take it home. It?s that bad. A Read more

Like a lot of other comments, this place is fairly priced. The bbq was very good but I wouldn't say amazing. The server also... grilled the meats for us instead of having to bbq it on our own, which is something you rarely see anymore. Washrooms are veryclean. Overall, great experience. I would probably go back if in the area. Read more

The restaurant website lets you order ahead for pick up without calling and was a seamless experience. The order was confirmed... and ready way before I could even reach there. Oh and the food itself was top notch. The flavor on the bibimbap was ????.Totally recommend the place. The place itself was super clean and looked great as well, though I didn't dine in. Read more

My favourite Korean Restaurant in the Chinatown area of Toronto. It has a fairly priced menu and the food are fantastic. I... always eat here and the experience is always one of a kind. The service is fast and the servers are always ready to help bypressing a red button that rings a tone to call their attention. Highly recommended. Read more

Pleasantly surprised to find this spot open late on a Sunday night. Great service checking in on us and refilling our side... dishes (there?s also a button to call for service). Keep in mind the tofu soup is pretty spicy by default. Favourite dish wasthe mackerel, very moist with a crisp skin, squeezing over the lemon is a must. Update: I went again and tried the pork bonestew. Generous portion of pork made for great leftovers. Usually I refrain from ordering this dish when I?m with other peoplesince picking through the bones is tedious/unflattering, but here the meat slides right off the bones. Preferred this over thebeef stew (pictured) I had last time. It was convenient that they were open at 10pm on a Wednesday (and 15% off on Wed). Read more

Came here for a casual birthday celebration with friends. We ordered two of the kbbq combo sets and was more than satisfied with... the quantity of meat and side dishes that came with it. We also ordered the seafood pancake which was surprisingly super crispyand good! The quality of service was also excellent and the servers were very kind. Would recommend and would come again.
