If you?re into K-dramas, BB.Q Chicken is one the featured restaurant chain in the hugely popular and one of the highest rated TV... drama in Korea - Crash Landing On You (CLOY). Ever since I?ve watched this show, I?ve been craving for the best Korean friedchicken. We tried the following: We got the Golden Fried Chicken and Gangnam Style Chicken Wings. The Golden Fried Chickenhas 8 pcs. and an assortment of legs, breast, wings. The size of the chicken is just right and perfectly proportioned. If youhaven?t tried Korean Fried Chicken (KFC), this flavour would be a good start. You will be surprised at how good this chicken is!In terms of quality, you will get a juicy, tender and amazing crunchy chicken. There?s no comparison to the North American friedchicken you?re used to which is too greasy and taste old. The fried chicken here are made fresh so you get the best exteriorcrunch and flavour. The Gangnam Style Chicken Wings on the other hand is coated with sauce made from black pepper, green onionsand garlic. It?s glazed in sauce and absorbed into the crust but doesn?t make the chicken wings soggy. The result - you get ajuicy chicken with crunch and is a little bit sweet, spicy, sticky and savory all at the same time. Sooo good and addictive, itjust makes you want to eat more. Each order also comes with 2 sides of pickled daikon radish. The pickled radish is the bestaccompaniment to the chicken as it?s tangy, slightly sweet and refreshingly crunchy. Spicy Dukk-Bokki ($13) - I would say thisis one of the best dukkbokki/tteokbokki I?ve tasted in Toronto. The garaetteok (rice cake) is freshly made and fantasticallychewy. The combination of the spices - gochujang and gochugaru gives a cleaner-tasting spicy kick to the dish and is simplyaddictive. The addition of the other ingredients like eomuk (fish cake), cabbage, scallions and egg makes this dish similar toan authentic Korean streetfood. I tried their gangjeong boneless chicken and their chak chak fries. The chicken had some mild spice and it was sweet just the... way I like it. The fries were eye watering spicy, but I enjoyed them nonetheless. There's a lot of spices/sauces to try out, soit's worth coming back for new experiences. Just don't be like me and immediately eat through the chicken unless you want yourlips burnt. The staff were friendly and helpful. They even checked up on me if everything was good. Indoors was cool, spacious,and entertaining (they had wrestling on the TV). I liked the vibe and the decor. I'm the type who loves it when a restaurant isempty/not crowded, but even I felt like this place deserves to be packed. It was also during happy hours (20% off between4-7pm). I appreciate that Asian restaurants tend to have individual clean washrooms instead of those stalls with gaps so widethat a camel can slide through. Read more
This location offers happy hour for dine in on weekdays from 4 to 7pm. We ordered the whole chicken bone in half/half... golden/secret sauce. This is our go to order at B.b.Q Chicken. It is so delicious and my favourite is the secret sauce. Mywife enjoys the golden, so the half and half works. We visited this location at 5pm on Wednesday, and it was pretty empty. Read more
I have been here a few times as it checks off so many of my boxes for Korean fried chicken. Crispy and juicy chicken, beautiful... interior, great variety of drinks (they even make outstanding cocktails) and service is always so attentive. My onlydisappointment from going back is that my clothes and belongings smell of overwhelming grease when I get home and lingersthroughout the next day. I don?t know if this is an issue that management can control but I hope that they do. Read more
Strongly recommended! I already have been here several times, and it?s been always great! Food itself is good, spacious, and... they are offering one free cocktail per table for their new bartender to practise. Especially, a server called Ben does such agreat job asking for help, suggesting good menu, etc. The only reason I gave 4 stars is their manager that sits at the cornerof the store, working on his laptop a.k.a ?supervising? his employees even on Sunday afternoon, and I felt uncomfortable how hehad to call the kitchen staffs out right away just because they played some music inside. I understand his job as a manager, butshowing such attitude in front of the customers is definitely not looking good. I am saying this because I was also a retailstore manager once. Great space, service and food. Ordered the cheese buldak, cheese balls, hot spicy fries, and soy garlic wings. All of them were... delicious. When I was there on February 28, they were not serving alcohol (yet?), but there were beer taps and bar shelves inplace, so I'm assuming that they will serve alcohol in the future. Read more
It?s so good I would go back again! Have to order online for the bone-in combo which comes with Cheering fries and assorted... cheese balls. We called to the store initially but they directed us to their website to order as certain items are not availablein-store. Their website and menu is pretty confusing to use, so just use the ordering app built into the website. The cheeseballs are so soft and chewy. A trio assortment of savoury and sweetness. I ordered off Skip The Dishes late at night and I?m SO glad I did!! The honey garlic wings are delicious and you can actually... taste fresh garlic in the sauce. The crunch prawn sticks were also really good! I ordered Secret Sauce to go with it, I don?tknow what it is but it is amazing, I dipped my wings in it too. The pickled radish on the side really complimented the wholemeal and I will definitely be ordering from here again! :) Read more
