Had a solid time here and tried out their variety of brews. They have plenty of options and it's nice to see they have a fridge... with what cans they have in stock. Had the Pepperoni and the Cauliflower bites which went well while sipping on some beers. Itwas a quieter Saturday afternoon but the service was great and we felt well taken care of. As someone mentioned before, outside does not look as nice as inside. Had no idea it was very spacious inside, they had cozy... decor with cute two fire places & huge selections of whiskys at the bar top area & big tvs for the sports games. Greatselections of craft beers & ciders with resonable price as well. Price range of most draft beer was $8-$9 range. Thought it wasgreat compared to the most of downtown pricing that starts from $11 these days. Mon & Tue Buck-a shuck oysters deal was a plussince you don’t see many bars/restos in Toronto with $1 for oysters any more. Oysters were really fresh. We also tried $12Poutine which was a big portion size and went really well with oysters. Service was very friendly and attentive. I organized a birthday party at Bar Hop Session and it simply was amazing. Jim, the owner, was very kind and super helpful. The... bar itself is very nice, cozy, has a good ambiance, great drinks, music and food. Jordan, our bartender, absolutely nailedeverything that night. From the drinks, to the food/dessert timing and the music, he’s been the bestest. I highly recommendthis gem, whether you just want to have a good time with a few friends or organize a bigger event. I've been here a few times now. A good beer bar. The beer is the star of the show. Always a thoughtful and varied tap list. ... The food is good but not great. The servers are pleasant enough but always a little "too cool for school". A little morewarmth and a little less hip would be welcome. Read more
Food was actually pretty good, but the service was poor at-best. We didn’t bother ordering more food as it took forever for... them to check-in, and literally went elsewhere for more. I also asked about a sauce on one of the burgers and they didn’tknow—so I ordered a burger that didn’t have it (as I have a lot of anxiety with unknown foods). But then the mystery saucecame on my burger anyway, and I was really upset by it… I mentioned to them it wasn’t listed as being on the burger, andthey didn’t apologize or offer a solution. The empty platter of my bf’s oysters sat at our table until we decided to get upand ask for the bill (the platter was never cleared). Went while visiting home. Cute bar that wasn’t there when I grew up in the neighborhood. The outside is misleading, it looks... cheap and divey. However, this was not the case. Great service, bartender was awesome, went back a second time because of him.When my boyfriend asked for a recommendation on a gin cocktail he made an amazing drink that wasn’t even on the menu. But itsucked that he worked the floor and the bar because it made the service understandably slow. Nice atmosphere, minus the fruitflies at the bar. Read more
Had an excellent experience! Didn't expect much initially, but we noticed a sign while walking down the danforth for $1 oysters... on mondays and we were sold! The oysters turned out to be great quality and the young man serving us gave my husband some greatscotch recommendations which made his night! So glad to see the danforth light up again and this place is the way to go. Greatbeer, great service and great oysters! Read more
