Stop browsing for a place for dinner tonight, and go here! We randomly selected this restaurant for an impromptu date night and... were so impressed. It happened to be half price wine bottles on Wednesday (I believe they have daily specials and will soon beparticipating in Winterlicious). Our server Mason was personable, enthusiastic and made fantastic wine and appetizerrecommendations. We were feeling adventurous so opted for the stake tartare and bone marrow, both 2 visually stunning, balancedand delicious dishes. The ambience was inviting, with elegant, modern furniture and warm lighting. This has now become myfavourite restaurant in the city. I imagine sitting at the bar would be a great experience too. Had a very nice birthday dinner here. The service was very good, attentive but gave our group time for a long dinner for a... Saturday night. The food was solid. Pretty basic Italian classics, not show stopping but satisfying classics. The deserts wereamazing. Our waiter talked us into the gelato and a brioche bun and it was fantastic. Read more
Came here for dinner on a Friday evening. Really enjoyed our dinner here. Food was excellent and the service was also good. Our... server was friendly, informative and not too imposing. Just the right amount of interaction. Really enjoyed our funghi pinsaand the beef shank & pork shoulder pasta was so good! Portion sizes were perfect for our mains. The arancini was a bit smallerthan I expected. I can only compare it to my one other experience of eating it in Rome so I don't really know how big it usuallyis in Toronto but nevertheless, the taste was very good. They also very generously served us a complimentary beef ribstarter. Overall, would definitely return again. Pricing was extremely fair considering portion sizes, quality of the food andcurrent inflation rates. Highly recommend trying this place. Read more
Great vibe of the restaurant. I like the pizza here. And the grill mushrooms complimented the steak really well. Nice chewy... bread with the bone marrow. Also very reasonable price for the portion of the meal. The half size rigatoni felt like a wholeportion :). Will come around again to try the drinks. Read more
A really terrific experience. We chanced upon this restaurant when we were in the neighbourhood. They accommodated us on short... notice without reservation (despite a packed restaurant) and even moved us to a booth after a few minutes from our high topseats. The cocktails were fun and the quality of every dish we tried was excellent, specially the fried smelts and the steak. Ahearty recommendation, specially considering the price point. Read more
We came to this restaurant partly because of the good online rating as well as noticing the nice interior when passing by it in... the past. After trying it for the first time, we were truly impressed. We like to try different restaurants, and rarely wediscover a gem that we want to keep going back to, and we know this is going to be one for us, especially for nice datenights. The ambiance was warm and beautiful with plenty of candle light. The restaurant is big enough so that even when filledwith patrons, it did not get overwhelmingly noisy for good conversation. Of course, the main thing was the food. We hadarancini, the funghi pizza, hanger steak, and Nonna's ragu. Like many photos already shared, the funghi pizza was generouslyloaded with various types of mushrooms, and the natural flavor blended well with the potato base and cheese. With every juicybite, you get a great umami and creamy flavor. Nonna's ragu was also amazing. Because tomato sauce based dish is common, it isdifficult to go above expectation, but they did it with this dish. The Hanger steak was our favorite, it was perfectly cooked,served with cream and mint sauce, roasted vegetables, which included amazing lightly charred hen of the woods mushrooms. We alsoliked the beautiful cocktails we got. The attention to detail in this place was not only just for the food, but also theservice. Overall, our server was attentive and helpful with suggestions. Although we had no special request, we observed suchones were accommodated in neighboring tables. Towards the end, we had no room in our stomach for big dessert items, and theykindly gave us 2 small lemon meringue tarts on the house. The bill also came with a beautiful post card. Overall experience was amazing. Went there to celebrate a special occasion and we all loved it. Food was delicious and the... service was awesome. We had some additional asks and the staff were happy to accommodate it. The ambiance was also verynice. Definitely going back. Arancini is a must try. Read more
We rented the Sofia room for our work Holiday party (24 people) and it was perfect. Amanda and her team were wonderful at... accommodating the little details we requested, and the food was incredible. Everyone had a great time.
