Reviews for Ajisen Ramen and Bar (Church/Carlton) in Toronto, ON
This is a hybrid Ajisen Ramen with Bar/Tapa options! Huge menu, lots to try and a great vibe. A medium amount of seating with... booths and tables. Service was decent! Their menu combines various styles of foods (double-sided menu on the table). Itemsrange from filet mignon on ramen to tom yum steak ramen or steak teppanyaki tapas to curry rice dishes. We ordered the originalsteak ramen and the Ajisen beef rice. The steak came as their steak teppanyaki on a hot plate, sizzling and delicious. TheAjisen beef rice was nothing spectacular but hits the spot for quantity and it came with miso soup. Employees were fast atresponding and serving us. Hope the construction stops soon in the area, as it does affect how you get to the restaurant.Otherwise, the vibe is great, service was fast. Read more
My friend and I were promptly served in this busy location. I had the tom yum steak ramen while she had the rice entree. I?d... rate the ramen as 5/5. I feel like this is the safest choice in terms of choosing a ramen flavour because you know what taste toexpect (if you know tom yum) and Ajisen makes the broth so well and consistent in recipe every time! We had the takoyaki and ittasted delicious as well. They offer their own lager and dark beer. I asked for a sample so that I can decide which beer tosettle with, but unfortunately the manager declined this request. Meh. It would?ve been really nice if this was offered. Ichoose to have a 33 oz Ajisen dark beer. I didn?t feel the buzz. 3.5/5 for me. Read more
I've been to their location at Spadina and this one is just as great. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I've always... loved their Tom Yum base for the ramen. The food was priced fairly and they came pretty quickly. Overall, I had a greatexperience! Read more
Service was super fast and the staff were really sweet. The food came out hot and it was delicious, it was a really nice place... to go to after a very packed day. Going again when possible to try the rest of the menu. The japenese curry bowl was verycomforting and fed my craving, the sake I ordered went well with it too. Portions worth the price and even have a little leftfor next days lunch. A cute little hidden restaurant worth trying :) Read more
Great spot to get your Ramen fix with a cozy ambience! Excellent service by the staff and the food itself is really good. Well... balanced and not too spicy (unless you ask for it) and comes with some great beer and sake options. Definitely recommend ifyou're in the downtown area! Read more
An "elevated" experience this was not. First time and I'm not particularly eager to go back. Rare for me as I'm usually the... three strikes you're out kinda guy. Took a booth off the kitchen wall. Order a 1968. Nice drink. A tad too sweet but that'spersonal taste. A heavy set man walks in and I don't know if he works there or applying for a job but two female staff comerunning & SCREAMING out of the kitchen happy to see him...right next to where I'm sitting of course. The screaming subsides andhe sits in the booth opposite mine but it doesn't end there. Up and down he goes several times from his seat at one pointstanding behind me shouting (of course) at the kitchen staff...and right over my head. I turn looking at him thinking of thewonderful things I could do with my chopsticks but he walks back to his seat. The Ramen is good with varied broths availablebut nowhere do I see bean sprouts as an add on. Casually ordering shrimp rolls (which they do not have,) I was given vegetarianrolls. Fair enough. Perhaps the Waitress didn't hear me in order to correct the error. A joint mistake as I should have paidcloser attention. It would have saved me time looking for the darn shrimp. The Waitress was friendly, polite and evendescribed the main courses when she learned it was my first time. So points for that. The music is loud. Don't expect to carrya normal conversation. This is the third Ramen restaurant at this location in as many years or close enough. I hope this oneimproves as there are others who won't have their customers leave with a headache and higher blood pressure than when theywalked in. Read more

Went here for dinner with my family and the place was pretty packed despite being a weekday night. Their location is pretty... tight and only had a small number of tables available. The servers were very kind and accommodating; super smiley andpositive. Their portions are a little small, but you can order more noodles for an extra charge if you're not full enough. Ihad the Tom Yum soup ramen and it had more of a kick than I expected, but still tasty nonetheless. Will definitely come back totry their other flavors.
