Wonderful experience! We tried ten wines and loved all of them (which is quite rare for us)! We've tried many VA wines... throughout the years and were impressed during our first visit. Read more

Overall, this was the perfect place to wait out a passing storm on our bike tour. The land and building are beautiful, the staff... is welcoming and knowledgeable, there are packaged snacks to pair with the wine, and the lounge is very cozy. I only kept backone star because the wine is generally a bit sweet for my taste, but there was a very good Chardonnay on the menu that convincedus to buy a bottle. Read more

Amazing selection of wines. I loved the Bavarian style, very unique compared to other wineries in the area. Large outdoor space... would be great on a sunny, warm day. Read more

A very helpful staff working the beautiful grounds. They have a handful of products to purchase, including wine, local honey,... and cheeses. I went with the suggested red and white and am very pleased with what I was given. Read more

No one around, peaceful, relaxing wine tasting on a lovely deck surrounded by the overloaded grape vines in the vineyard.... Christa was delightful to meet! Looking forward to a return visit! Read more

A hidden gem in the Shenandoah Valley. All of their wines are VERY unique in taste. You need to try both their white and red... wines. The winemaker is a geologist who does a great job at making the wines taste as it states in the description. If you loveunique wines, this place is a must try. Read more

This is a review of my first North Mountain Winery experience on 3-12-21. To begin, I have to say that as far as a setting,... North Mountain's is top notch, but one of the drawbacks is that no matter how you access it, you have to go by gravel road. Ifeel like this might be important information for those that don't want to go off the paved path. Google Maps led me through theback roads out of Woodstock to the winery. The worst of it is actually the driveway from the road to the main building. Next, Irecognize that we've been in a pandemic and I certainly applaud those businesses that have taken the necessary steps to protecttheir patrons, but I feel like they might be going overboard here at North Mountain, as no guests are permitted to enter thebuilding where the tasting room and bathrooms are located. Yes, you read that right... no public bathroom access if you'revisiting this winery. All wine is ordered and served outside. I've been to other wineries and breweries over the last year whenpossible, and while all of them required masks and social distancing, this is the only one I've seen to this point that cut offaccess completely, to the point that guests they're selling beer and wine to can't access the bathrooms. Speaking ofaccessibility, there's no handicap access to anywhere here where you would place an order. All public entrances are accessed bystairs, as far as I could tell. On to the wine - we ordered two flights, which are broken up by reds and whites, five perflight. You can't order flights that mix reds and white wines, so if you want to sample both, you have to order both flights, which are $15. The flights are served in five 2 oz. pours in plastic ramekins like that you might serve ranch dressing in with asalad or an order of wings. They can't be bothered with glassware here like the other wineries and breweries that are operatingnow under the same pandemic. If you do want real glass, you have to bring it yourself or buy theirs. The five Read more
