My first time here, and we will be back. The food, service, and atmosphere was exceptional.
Nicole did a superb job for us today. We arrived a little later than anticipated and needed to leave for about 15 minutes to... watch the rocket launch. When we returned, our food was ready and kept nice and warm. All the staff was friendly and sweet, evenas we left, our grandson was pleased to pick out a lollipop. Terrible! I took my grandkids and the service was super slow. The food was cold. My eggs were over cooked and when the server... brought me new ones they were undercooked. The gravy was so salty I couldn't eat it. The manager offered to re cook the entiremeal. My grandkids were so hungry they ate what they could and we left. The manager comped the meal. As we were leaving anotherpatron stopped me and said "don't feel bad for complaining. We have had that server before. She is terrible . I don't know whyshe's still here..... More.... Village Inn-Titusville, FL- 4 Stars ?O-oh, back on the chain gang (ho-ah)...? ? The Pretenders As you might be able to tell... from the opening quote if not the name of the restaurant to be reviewed in this post, I am back in chain restaurant mode. Hey, Iknow it's not for all of us, but enough of us so that it needs to be done. This time my random place generator spewed forthVillage Inn located in Titusville, FL. They have establishments in 18 states (including Alaska) with the majority of them inColorado, I guess stoners like their food? Well, with that many eateries in that many states, they must be doing somethingright. Pulling into the sparsely filled parking lot, I have to admit, some doubt crept in, but I pushed it aside andentered. The place was clean, friendly, and exuded a homey welcome. As I was taking my seat, Rebecca, the waitress took mydrink order. Now that is prompt service! She then proceeded to cheerfully and professionally answer all my questions and thentook my order of one Ultimate Skillet, a Short Stack of Pancakes and a Reuben with a side of steamed broccoli. The UltimateSkillet contained frozen, not fresh hash browns, ham and veggies. However, for a chain restaurant, I am impressed with theexecution as it was pulled off flawlessly with perfectly cooked eggs. The flapjacks were a scrunch overcooked, but oh so butteryand milky on the palate. What can I say about The Reuben? It looked great but was not all that good. I think it might be aningredient issue as it certainly was not an execution issue. Maybe it was the end of the meat or maybe not as high grade as I amused to, regardless, it was not tasty in the least. The side of broccoli, on the other hand, was fresh, crisp and delightfullyprepared. The side salad consists on the cheapest nastiest part of a cheap head of lettuce. I mean god forbid they spend $1.00 more for... some healthy romaine. This is not a specialty food place?like steak or seafood. It?s a people food place and sometimes we need that?to eat just normal... people food. I like this place because it has breakfast all day long. My wife had breakfast and I had the double decker club.Delicious. Our server Jazz was great. Prices were reasonable.
