I went to lunch to visit my cousins at the Ashford House last Sunday. I liked the overall feel with lots of families and... seniors.I ordered the Corned Beef Reuben with fries. The corned beef was outstanding, so lean and just the right amount ofacceptable fat around the edges. The Ashford House gets their meats from next door at the Winston Market that has the freshestmeats and other items. My sister ordered a Cottage Pie similar to Shepherd's Pie, she said it was a real disappointment, themeat looked like pulled pork not chunks of beef. In fairness, the portion was very generous but not very appetizing. She saidshe would order something else next time. My other sister ordered a Reuben and my cousin ordered a corned beef sandwich and theyboth said they liked their choice. Read more
My father is 95 years Old country Irish. He is set in his ways and wanted a certain table and the hostess went out of her way to... make sure he was comfortable even though he picked the biggest table and there was only two of us. I will not take my father toany other restaurant because he is not afraid to say if he is not happy at a restaurant and he has been At the Ashford House atleast eight times and has not complained yet. It was our first time trying Ashford House. We went for dinner. It was excellent! My wife had prime rib and it was so good. I... had the pork chops and they were equally as excellent. Nice place inside, our waitress was new but nice. Some of the other waitresses were a little upset about having to wait on... people outside while is was raining and they were vocal about it. We can understand why, but this shouldn't have been overheard by the customers. Food was so so. Scrambled eggs arrived cold, pancakes where dry tasting. The large cup of orangejuice was rather small and when we asked about the size of a small we were told it was a shot glass size. I just want to saythat is absolutely ridiculous. The steak skillet was good. But unfortunately there just were not enough positive thingsto say so we most likely wont be back. Read more

Facilities are nice and clean, Dawn our 1 server for 30 plus people was pleasant and kind. Food wasnot good. Salad over dressed, chicken was dry like way dry... beef is a small slice from Winston's deli wise... 5 slices withgravy on them by the time they hit the table COLD.
