Both great but no kimchi or bimbop. Find out new owners, new menu. Needs to berelisted. Good food just not much korean anymore. Read more

This restaurant in just down from a family members place, so we thought we could give it a try. The first time we went it was... pretty good. Enough so that we chose to try it again a few months later. Our last experience (in early April) was a bit of afail all-around. Once we were finally greeted by our server, we ordered several items straight out of the gate. First the garlicedamame as an appetizer, along with miso soup. The miso soup showed up in about 5 minutes, along with a few sushi dishes weordered about 10 minutes later. It was a bit of a chore for the staff to keep our water glasses full. Funny enough, I had askedfor a carafe or an extra glass from the start but our server instead asked if I wanted a straw? I think she missed the pointthat I was trying to make her job easier, but I digress. As soon as our food came. these fruit flies came out of nowhere. I sawthem in the restroom but didn't think much of it. Now those same bugs were buzzing around, landing on our food. When I saidsomething to one of the young ladies, she simply replied "yeah they came early this year, normally they don't show up untilsummer. It must be the weather". Like really? Your a restaurant in California, not Costa Rica. There are easy ways to avoid bugstaking over your inside eating establishments. About 30 minutes after sitting down we were wrapping things up. All of a suddenthe gentleman that works the front dropped off our garlic edamame. Now by this time we wrote it off and figured the serversimply forgot to order them. A few minutes later our actual server finally stops back by to check in on us. She asked if we weregood. I gestured to the edamame and said we actually ordered these as an appetizer, not a dessert. She simply replied "yeah, Ithink the kitchen was back up". Not 'do you till want them?' or ' our bad, it's on us'. Anything besides passing the buck intrue millennial fashion. Based on this experience it will be our last. It's really unfortunate a local Read more

I used to love this restaurant and would frequent it as I believe in supporting local businesses. However, their service has... gone downhill in recent months. Prior to posting this review, I called the restaurant twice to speak to the manager and providefeedback on the service but the manager was not available each time and I never got a call back. That tells me they have nointerest in hearing from a customer or improving their service. One major reason why restaurants fail is due to their lack ofcustomer service. Read more

Not sure what happened with this place? Two rolls ordered on Door Dash, and both of them tasted waaaayyyy too fishy. The Halo... Roll and the Citron Roll ? one is tuna and one is salmon ? both VERY fishy, definitely not fresh. The other food was good?Tempura platter and Gyoza. Called to inquire, and the voice mail picked up to say they were closed on Christmas Day. Hmmm, it?sNovember 2nd. They haven?t updated their after hours greeting for 10 months ? that might be a clue. Very nice people! I had the kalbi BBQ ribs (Korean style), and it very good, although it would be nice if they had kimchi (and... yes, it's mostly a sushi restaurant). However, the meat was marinated in a classic sauce that had too much vinegar, so the tastewas not quite what it should be. That's an easy adjustment to make, and I look forward to be a regular customer. Read more

I visited here with my sister with high hopes. We heard great feedback on the internet about Yama San and couldn?t wait to try... their food. The ambiance was lovely and the tea we ordered was good, but that?s where our compliments end. The calamari we gotwas disappointing. It looked amazing, but the flavors didn?t match the exterior. The breading drowned the calamari, the calamariwhen you finally got to it was tough. It was like eating rubber and was unlike any calamari I have ever eaten. The citron rollwe got was dowsed in ponzu. It was the only thing you could taste on the roll. The second roll we got was the tiger roll. Thatroll was good. Just good, there was nothing spectacular about the roll to make it worth $15. Then the last roll we got was thebaked scallop roll. Honestly that roll was a mess. It was just too much. You might as well have brought out a fork because itwas just a mound of creaminess and scallops. You could barely taste anything besides the cream cheese it was a big let down.Sometimes this could all be redeemed by good service, but I could count the amount of times our server came over to check on ususing only three of my fingers. The restaurant looked deserted, it?s not like she was jam packed helping other customers. Thenat the end when we where paying she then let us know that their cash register wasn?t working and we would have to pay withcard. What if we didn?t have our card? These are issues that should have been troubleshooted earlier. So we could have known howwe were supposed to pay before we even sat down. This whole experience was utterly disappointing and a waste of time and stomachspace. Read more

New management. Very friendly, good food, but they no longer offer sides with the main dishes any more. This was my favorite... Korean style restaurant. Now it?s more of a Japanese Sushi place. looking for another Korean BBQ to get my kimchi, pickledturnip, etc, fix. It was the sides that put this restaurant above the others. Hopefully they will consider bringing the sidesback. Read more
