Maybe I just got older but I used to love their burgers but I think everything is just too salty. I think the food is still not... bad but not as good as few year I had it. Read more

I think I ordered the wrong thing: the burgers here are legendary but i got a steak sandwich and it wasn't the best: kind of... bland and grizzly. The fries are perfect though, and I can't think of words for the cotton candy milkshake I had for dessert.Next time I'll have a burger. The service is dynamic and lively --how they keep the long line moving so efficiently is kind ofmiraculous. It's a bit pricey for a burger-and-fries dinner (expect to spend $20 for burger, fries and drink) but fresh food andfrom what I hear, the burgers are very good. Worth checking out. Read more

The best flame grilled burger in the city. Been coming here since I was a kid and it?s always been the best. Can?t go wrong with... their homemade all-star burger and don?t forget to add their homemade bbq sauce and griddled onions. Always a great time hereand the service is also so friendly. Read more

Golden Star is legendary, I've been coming here since I was a little kid in the 90s. But if I'm honest, it's a little... disappointing now. I paid $16 for a 6oz burger and average size onion rings. No drink. $16! When I think of a diner I think oftwo things - no frills but quality, and affordable. The quality is there. The Burger is very good even if only 6oz. Rings wereok, not bad. But there is another legendary burger joint at Sheppard and VP where you could get the exact same thing for halfthe price. Sadly I think this will be the last time I come to Golden Star. There are just better options and the prices areabsurd. Banana for scale. Edit: removing 1 golden star because looking through the reviews I can see people getting onion ringsin a paper tray and they get more. I got in the slim paper cup they use for fries. Not impressed. Best burgers ever! I?ve been coming here with my family and friends since I was a kid. Quality has not changed a bit and I enjoy... every bite of the burger. Their homemade combo is the ?go-to? for many, however I haven?t really tried other things on the menubecause this combo is just too good!! When I went today, I believe it was $16-17 after taxes for a combo. Not cheap, but you?regetting the quality. They usually get busy during meal times, so you already know that people are willing to spend that kind ofmoney since it?s really good! I would suggest to get the onion rings instead of fries though. Sometimes their fries are alittle burnt, but I?ve never had an issue with their onion rings for the past ten years. They hand bread it, so sometimes therings look stuck together (which is the evidence that they make it from scratch) Fast service, and very accommodating. Not tomention that they also have beer! Great for a small family dinner, ambience is nice and it reminds me of the old movies wherethey feature a diner. Also one plus: they used to only take cash, but now they take both cash and debit card. Still no credit,so make sure you bring a bank card or cash. Read more
