We have been twice and both times the food was amazing. Pizza is out of this world, like it’s from Italy. Servers and chefs... are great. The first impression however is rather unwelcoming. At reception when you walk in, they seem shocked, unorganized andmake you feel like you are a bother. Responses such as ‘I’ll have to find out if anything is available upstairs “ “oursystem is down, it will take me awhile’ ‘I need your credit card and you need to respond to the email for yourreservation’. Their verbiage needs to be more about ‘welcome, thrilled to have you, I will check right away for seating’.I understand and love that they are busy but first impression on the welcome needs polishing. Had one of the best pizzas I've ever had and same as my wife. We ended up sitting at the community dinner table for dinner... which we ended up having all to ourselves for the majority of our stay. Our waiter was top notch, knowledgeable and friendlyand helped make our dining experience memorable. The bartender/ mixologist made a shot very similar to our favourite which is aSicilian kiss (half Southern comfort and half Amaretto). It was spot on, forgot to ask what they put in it. What a greatcommunity and a great place to relax and enjoy an amazing culinary experience. We loved Thornbury and hope to return soon. Cheers Read more

Why can’t there be more restaurants like that in the area? We had the scallops, green salad, cucumber salad, mushroom pizza,... and two desserts. Every bite was fantastic! Even the house wines were exquisite! And the service - magnificent! Read more

I got the pizza special and it was great, but one of my friends ordered the beef tartare, and it was AMAZING. Highly recommend.

I've eaten a lot of pizza and even some of the yummiest in Naples, Italy but these pizzas were absolutely the best pizzas I've... eaten! Everything about them was perfect, the crust, the sauce, the cheese the toppings all worked together so well. Qualityingredients! The desserts and cocktails were also to die for and the service was lovely even when it was super busy. Read more

Quite outstanding! Wonderful dining experience! The dining room is filled with designer's touches. The sitting arrangement is... playfully and smartly done. The vegetarian pizza was quite delicious and service was impeccable. Read more

I visited Bruce Wine Bar earlier this week for a dinner with work colleagues. A strong 5 star rating from me: * the restaurant... interior is fantastic. Decor is simple and contemporary. There’s plenty of space for diners etc. Restaurant was extremelyclean. Ambience was very warm and friendly. * service was excellent. The staff there really had a deep understanding of themenu and were able to make great recommendations. * the food itself was superb. I had the beef tartare, roasted duck and thechocolate desert. All three were extremely well done, made from fresh and high quality ingredients and cooked toperfection. Absolutely faultless and a great place to eat if you’re in the area. Read more

Bruce Wine Bar is a hidden gem. We were visiting from Toronto and were blown away at this little local spot. The pizzas ????... were unbelievable. We got the last 2 seats at the bar and ordered Nature, and Nurture cocktails for starters. For the mains, mywife and I ordered the two pizzas (i) beef pepperoni pizza and (ii) smoked chicken pesto; with an extra side of garlic aiolisauce (we like to dip our crusts). You'll have to ask for extra aioli sauce which is not standard with the pizza order. Overall, the pizza dough was very tasty, thick crust and thin slices that required a knife & fork, and overall everything was superdelicious. Read more
