Reviews for Moonlight Bar-B-Q Company in The Woodlands, TX
Sauce - good flavor. I would prefer a little more spice, but the flavor was decent. Meat - I got the sliced brisket and... jalapeño sausage. Both were a little too dry. Not bad, but dry. Environment - Nice outdoor seating. Plenty of space betweenthe wooden bench type seats. Old country songs playing takes me back to my childhood. Price - A little high for what I got. Twomeat plate was $16, with two sides and a drink. Not overly pricey, but not the $12 I was expecting. Customer service -Excellent. When there wasn?t a line, the workers walked between the tables asking if we needed anything. I would recommend thisplace if you want to chill outside, listening to old country songs, and eat some decent BBQ Read more
Absolutely, without a doubt, the best brisket I have eaten! Everything was delicious and prepared like it came from Grandma's... kitchen. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for some true Texas BBQ. Read more
Amazing spot for some great BBQ! Owned and operated by a father and son. The owner gave us a tour of the smokehouse and kitchen.... Impeccably clean and very nice! Food was amazing. Not only was the sliced brisket perfect, the pork rib we sampled was the bestIve ever tasted, and the sides were just as great as the meat! I also tried the sausage which is one of my favorite BBQ meatsand man was it delicious. Two things im picky about; Cole slaw and Mac'n cheese. They nailed them both! I was so impressed. Theoutdoor seating is very nice and the restrooms are super clean! We will definitely be back on a regular basis. Read more
I love this place and the family that makes it happen. I?ve used them now for 2 large caterings and several meals and it gets... better all the time. The sauce killer. The meat is smoked to perfection every time. The sides are amazing and the deserts too. I don?t review places very often but I had to in this case. Too good. Read more
Really great BBQ joint! The service was very friendly and gave me an extra rib even though I just ordered 1 to try. They also... gave me a free sample of the corn and checked in frequently for refills. The pork ribs were the highlight for me -- completelypacked with flavor and texture, especially in the rub/sauce. The jalapeno sausage was also great with a satisfying snap. It wassalty and flavorful, and paired well with the BBQ sauce. Next time I'll probably get both of these for my meal. Both of mysides (mac & cheese, mexican corn casserole) were very good - much better than the sides you usually get from BBQ places. Themacaroni noodles were firm (they hadn't turned to mush like they sometimes do at other places) and the cheese sauce was creamybut not overpowering. The corn casserole was very unique and filling - the portions are generous! The brisket was the leastimpressive thing to me (it was still good) but I blame that on us eating at 2:00pm... brisket is always best before noon. Thebark was tasty and it was decently moist, but I'd like to try it again just after they open for the day. Overall this is anawesome place to get some solid BBQ. Be aware that it's all exterior (covered) seating, so it gets pretty warm. The bathroomsare much nicer than expected for such a small place. The prices are a little high - which is standard for BBQ - but the portionsare very generous and you can eat the 2-meat plate combo for at least 1.5 meals. Read more
