Very casual atmosphere here. Order at the counter, get your own drinks and BBQ sauce, then they bring your order to your table.... Ribs were fall-off-the-bone good as was the pulled pork sandwich. Lots of smoke flavor coming through. Hush puppies were alittle under cooked and over seasoned for my taste. Collard greens were a bit too spicy hot, too, but the cole slaw wasexcellent. We visited this establishment for the very first time, today, for an early lunch. It was a great experience! Inviting vibe and... whimsical decor. Staff was super friendly, food was terrific, facility was spotless, and prices were very reasonable; especiallyconsidering the portion sizes. (I also saw a list of daily specials.) I ordered the Bird-Dog Stacker (smoked turkey & sausage)sandwich, baked beans, cole slaw, and a Jai Alai to drink. I was pleasantly surprised to see 2 IPAs on tap. I love BBQ, I always give places a second chance. Maybe the cook was having a bad day the first time I went. I've been to every... single local BBQ place within 50 miles of my home and work. Food trucks included. The nicest way I can say this is my sides, theMac n Cheese and Corn Nuggets, were better than the pulled pork. There were some crunchy burnt ends and more fat than I've everseen in pulled pork. It made the sandwich taste funny and I didn't even make it half way through before I tossed the rest.Unfortunately it's the only bbq I can get to on my lunch break. ???? First time eating here at Willie Jewels. I ordered the 3 meat platter, I got ribs, brisket and sausage. Sides were baked beans... and Mac n cheese! First, the ribs were spot on, the flavor was great! The sausage was also good, but the brisket wasdisappointing. It was dry and didn?t have much flavor. The Mac n cheese wasn?t spectacular and while the beans tasted great, tome they should have been cooked a little longer. I?ll def go back to try other items and I will give the brisket another shot. Pretty good barbecue although the fried pickles were too salty to eat. The barbecue sauces are excellent. The restaurant was... very clean and service was efficient. A great place to enjoy your favorite sporting events. This restaurant has a greathistory, which is posted near the entrance.
