Incredible pie with spinach and cheese, taken right from the oven and cut in front of me. Staff is very nice, too.
Walked past the store & was drawn in by the delicious odor emanating from the front open door. Walked in & said, ?something... smells good but I don?t know what it is & I would like to try.? Then realized there was a small communication issue, butthankfully a gentleman at a table provided a helpful interpretation. The kind ladies went above & beyond to help me get a sliceeach of both the meat & cheese. Wow! The spinach and cheese burek is extraordinary. When it comes fresh out of the oven, its a explosion of flavor and warmth. We... also had the cheese burek - also tasty but perhaps not as much as the spinach and cheese one. The place has a limited menu(including homemade yogurt) but each item on the menu is super delicious. The folks at the counter are very kind and friendly.If you are ever in the area visiting the Bronx zoo or the Botanical gardens, this is definitely the place to grab dinner. Theplace is tiny with around 5 tables and very bare-bones decor, but the bureks are worth it. They are $5 each. A whole burek piecosts $20. Read more
