The rooms are adequate, but do not justify $500/ weekend night. The golf course was well maintained, but I didn't understand the... need to relocate the Robert E. Lee statue from Dallas to the middle of the practice putting green. I understand that Mr. KelcyWarren, Lajitas owner, is promoting this installation as Art and Education, but no where does the plaque mention that GeneralLee was fighting to defend Slavery. Dallas wouldn't keep it, so it?s like Mr. Warren is like, I can do what I want to do tocontinue to promote slavery and oppressive views. Mr. Warren spent 2 million dollars on this relocation effort. If hisintentions are genuine, to educate on history and promote art and I want to believe him, I would think he would invest in blackcommunities, create educational foundations, fund scholarships, anything but wasting 2 million like he did. Not only did Mr.Warren take this action, he also had a NEWLY erected Confederate monument on the opposite side of the street and seems tofurther demonstrate the support of slavery as disguised as art and education as the guy at the front desk cowardly tried toexplain. The girl standing next to him was mortified that she also had to explain these tributes to losers. Additionally, ifMr. Warren is genuinely interested in educating, edit the plaque to be very clear in the message and no room for the wronginterpretation. Instead say, "THE SADDEST TIME IN THE HISTORY OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. MAY WE ALWAYS REMEMBER LEST WEFORGET. MAY WE NEVER FORGET LEST that the south REPEATs OUR MISTAKES of defending Slavery! The South Lost and as a nation, weare better for it!! Let?s not forget that! Read more

We took a fairly decent size group 14 golfers with some spouses for a total group of 18. From day 1 the response was horrible. ... It took 10 days for anyone to contact me from initial call. Then when I finally made contact it would take almost a week tohear anything. The trip was pleasant, the facility is nice, the Golf Course is the obvious crown jewel. The staff is actuallyvery considerate and attentive. Service on their part was strikingly professional and incredible. The problem stems fromeither something simplistic in miscommunication or just simple blind faith theft! Check your final bill. Every one on our tripwas over billed if not double billed. Some were billed for others and some were not billed at all. Managements response was toaccuse me of being drunk and bad behavior, taking a bottle of wine to my room. The response was consistent with the excuses Igot during the drought of response in trying to set up the group. The over billing is just atrocious a two night stay plus 2rounds of golf came out to 1780.00. All this when 600.00 was suppose to pay for all that, somewhere in there I was billed1,180.00 half of which was not mine. The other over bill was one I was responsible for, that was suppose to be 800.00 somehowended at 1,300.00. One our golfers was billed for beer, he does not drink. Another paid cash at bar and was billed again thruroom. This is a sham?completely void of any semblance of a properly run business. There response was to not allow me to evergo back?or the group. What they missed was the power of the message. And the message is if your going to spend 3k there arebetter places around the state to visit. More important places that will return calls same day, respond via emails in 24 to 48hours not 10 days later and then say it was your fault. Not one to trash a place but this place left a very sour taste. Googlewon?t let me give it a negative grad so 1 it is. Read more

Incredible place in the middle of nowhere. Visited this resort many years ago when it first opened and decided to return (not... an easy trip from Florida). Really great employees and amenities you probably won't find any place else inLajitas/Terlingua/Study Butte area. Highly recommended, especially if you're a fugitive and want to disappear from the world. :) Read more

Gloria is amazing! We had an 8 hour drive to Lajitas Golf Resort and our vehicle kept overheating so we got to the resort very... late around 10PM. All the resort restaurants had closed so several Lajitas staff told us to go to Starlight Theater in Ghosttown to get food. It is about a 20 minute commute and we went there and they did not serve food past 9PM. We were upset anddidn't get to eat dinner. This also added about 40 minutes of a detour. We told the staff what happened and went to our roomat the resort hungry. When we got in our room the toilet was leaking on the floor due to needing repairs. We informed thestaff and they gave us a different room with a better view in about 5 minutes! Gloria was briefed on these issues we had ourfirst night and made everything better by giving us a discount! We are so grateful for her professionalism and she made up forthe issues. We feel that the staff was very friendly and professional! Overall, the resort was very nice and so beautiful! Inaddition, we feel that they go above and beyond to make sure guests are fully satisfied with their stay. Inevitably there willbe issues at places you choose for accommodations, but knowing that a place like Lajitas will make things right is encouragingand well worth doing business with them. Thank you Gloria! We HIGHLY recommend Lajitas Golf Resort and can't wait to return! Read more

Great location in regards to vicinity of Big Bend National park. AMAZING golf course. Beautiful resort. Sub par customer... service. The majority of our experiences with staff were unfortunately very poor. We often felt like we were inconveniencingthe staff in asking them any questions, although this was not the case with all staff. We were also told the golf shop likesit?s golf carts returned by 7 to go home early after we just spent a ?pretty penny? on a 9-hole round of golf at 5pm. Otherwise,a good experience and interesting atmosphere. Read more

We were on road trip visiting national parks in the Southeast. This was convenient to Big Bend and we were truly looking forward... to our stay. I would recommend trying to coordinate what you bring into the resort if you are placed on the second floor. Thereis no elevator so you?ll have to carry everything up steps. The electric went out shortly after we checked in to the hotel. Ourroom was very warm on arrival and never got to cool off before the power went out. For a ?nice? resort, we were surprised tofind they didn?t have backup generators for the guest rooms. The power had flickered while we were in a shop and the worker saidit wasn?t that uncommon. We escaped the heat for a while with an average dinner in the restaurant. Our room was incredibly hotthe rest of the night as the power didn?t come back on until 1:30 am. We, as well as other guests, tried to open our balconydoors for relief. However, it was difficult to sleep as it was a shared balcony and anyone could walk into your room thisway. Most concerning was that almost all of the emergency lighting was off in our hallway, making it unsafe after dark with thepower outage. We went straight to our room and hoped there wasn?t an emergency. When I tried to point this out the next morningso it could be rectified for the future, the front desk worker was extremely dismissive and didn?t care. Read more

Fine, and close to big bend. But it was $370/night for the privilege of paying $60 for a steak even a novice chef could cook... better at home. When we got to the pool, it was overcrowded and hot, surely in part because they were pumping hot water into itfor some reason. In June. In south Texas. The golf course looked pretty nice, but it?s $275 unless you stay here, in which caseit?s a bargain at $175. Read more
