Wow. I had the Carna Asada fries. So delicious. It really is enough for two. Even warmed up the next day it was great. Also... had a a blackberry margarita which was fantastic. Service was superb. Can't wait to go back to try more menu items. Read more
Don Juan's is a little unassuming from the outside, possibly because it's in a strip mall! We've learned to never underestimate... the power of a restaurant by it's location! The first thing you notice is the decor, it's beautiful! Nice earth tone colorswith big-bottomed comfy chairs and rustic wood tables make it super comfortable to relax and enjoy the meal. A great thing wenoticed right away was the table for two is plenty big enough, they're usually too small! The service was very friendly andattentive, we never wanted for anything! We each had the Don Juan Margarita and highly recommend trying that one, it was uniqueand delicious, not too sweet with wonderful new flavor twist of cucumber! We also both ordered the street tacos as we weren'tsuper hungry. Oh gosh, let me tell you, those were some of the absolute best street tacos we've ever had! I had the carnitas andhubby had the carne asada. They were full of flavor, and meat, and the tortillas were steamed nice and soft. We added someguacamole for our chips and salsa and although chunkier than we typically enjoy, it was very good with fresh avocado and justthe right amount of flavor. The chips aren't your typical restaurant or store bought chips, they're thick and hearty and supercrunchy so they stand up to the fire roasted salsa and thick chunky guacamole, we loved them! I went there for the first time for lunch. And our waitress was good and the chips and salsa was really good and I liked the... decor. But I ordered fish tacos and it was a fried frozen fillet cut in half on each taco. When I go to a place like this Iexpect authentic foods or at least breaded in house. Not a premade frozen filet. It was disappointing. It ruined the tacos forme. It was like a fish stick on my taco. Read more
This mole was the best I've ever had, and not just at a restaurant. Mole can be too sweet, too bitter, or just not right. This... was "Goldilocks." Enough sweetness, but not too much. Smoky flavor, but not overpowering. Perfect. Some of the best restaurantguac I've had as well. All of us were so happy with our meals. Two of us live or lived in SoCal, so we know what legit Mexicanfood tastes like. To have it in this quaint hamlet of Tenino makes this place a hidden gem. Read more
This was our first time coming here and I can tell you it will Not be the last it's our new favorite place. The food was amazing... and nothing like we have ever had so much flavor all from scratch . We had the Carne Asada burrito and we split it and still hadto take some home . The homemade fresh guacamole was the bomb so much flavor . The margarita also amazing so good we broughthome a pint of the salsa.All the sauces so yummy the chips also different than normal fried in peanut oil! I wanted to takethem home as well lol. This was my second visit here in the past six weeks. I just had to bring my friends to experience the great food here. Being... Mexican-American, I?ve had my fair share of Mexican food and I have to say that this is up there at the top. Wonderful,wonderful, wonderful! The service is as good as the food. Driving in from Olympia for lunch, you won?t be disappointed, believeme. I had Mole that was very well prepared and flavorful, my friends had the quesadillas which were excellent and the Wetburrito was super. I had street tacos the first time I was there and was very pleased. The rice and beans were the best I?ve hadat a restaurant in so long I can?t remember. As I said the service was excellent and I was so glad that my friends were allcrazy about the food as well. They serve up a super selection of hot sauces with the meal which make it even more interesting,including their own orange sauce which is great.
