Reviews for Flavors of Louisiana in Tempe, AZ
This place would get 5 stars if they communicated better or were faster. We waited forever just for our water. Over an hour for... the food to arrive and there was no communication. When the food arrived, however, it was worth it! If you don?t have to beanywhere for a while and have time, I?d recommend them. The people were friendly. They need to have music and more lightingthough. That would add to the vibe. I got the Etouffee with shrimp and it was SO GOOD!! Read more
The atmosphere is very southern. Great hospitality, clean tables, I LOVE THE HOTSAUCE SELECTION, and the food was great! We... shared some fried green tomatoes & fried pickles. I had a catfish po boy with hush puppies & my husband had their jumbalayawith shrimp. He also ordered some cheese fries on the side. I would give my food [po'boy & puppies] a 4 out of 5. My food wasdelicious and Hot, but the hush puppies needed some work. They were just a little too breadlike and needed more flavor. Myhusband gave his meal [jumbalaya, shrimp & cheese fries] a 4.5 out of 5 because he did need to add some tony chasier to his mealand hot sauce. Also the cheese on his cheese fries was not fully melted. Though very tasty with out the melty pull. I woulddefinitely go back again. I do recommend this spot if you are looking for some cajun flair. The people are nice and it's alwaysgood to support a local business. Enjoy your plate y'all! Read more
The server was friendly and welcoming Keisha started our evening on a great note! Why more people haven't discovered this yet I... don't know. Way better than Voodoo daddy. Catfish was lighter and tastier than Angry Crab. I strongly recommend you try it, youwill not be disappointed. Gator bites were very tender and delicious, they were perfect! Okra had good seasoning and lightbreading. Asking where the gator came from she said Louisiana! Amazing!! Read more

While I dig the original location in West Valley, this site has a whole different vibe. I was wanting to fall in love with this,... more conveniently situated, location...it quite did not 'do' it for me. The strip mall itself is just tricky to get to and hasan awkward parking. During my time eating here, I witnessed at least three near miss accidents. The interior suggests that thisused to be another very different business, a sports bar, perhaps? There must have been some water damage after the rain, as theceiling was missing bits. I have never had a coke with as little carbonation... ??????? But, the food itself was good -- chickentenders definitely homemade, like they should be. The chef is the sweetest lady, ever. ???? Overall, great food, drinks so-so,and the location still getting settled into. Read more
It was kinda slow... our server was sweet but a little quiet... and both those things are OK, because we got great food! We will... be coming back! I do wish they served alcohol, a Hurricane would have been a perfect addition to our meal! Alligator&Crawfishbites, Etouffee, Jolie Blon and Crab Landry ALL excellent! Read more
Ok this is a two part review. My wife and I were really, really wanting to eat some good, authentic Cajun food. We got there at... about 6:05pm Saturday evening. We asked for some water. We were kind of looking around, the place was pretty deserted, it was mywife, me and three other couples in an about 950 sq ft place. There was no ambiance, no music, no lighting, just a big room, quiet, awkward. I thought it was odd. Our server, a young lady, was very nice, very soft spoken. I noticed it was just her andthe cook working that day. On a Saturday night? I started to get concerned. The water came at about 25 minutes later. I startedto think this was a huge mistake. We ordered our meal, my wife ordered and Étouffée and I ordered the Jolie Blon, both of uswith a salad. We asked our waitress to please bring our salads first. Our salads came at around the 30 minute mark. We werestarving, still smiling and hoping at least our food is good. Salad was fine, it was a salad you would get anywhere else. No oneever came in after us. They were not busy. It was still us and three other couples. At around 45 minutes after ordering, we gotour food. After 7pm I noticed that the lighting changed and the music started to play, maybe is in a timer??? I was reallyreally hoping the wait was worthwhile. And it was!!!! My meal the Jolie Blon, was SOOOO delicious!!! Every bite had an immenseamount of flavor! I closed my eyes to be able to take it all in. It was so delightful!!! My wife?s étouffée was also great! Ittasted so good and authentic. The cook was ON POINT! He knows what?s he?s doing! So I?m telling you, if you want authenticdelicious Cajun food? COME HERE!!! BUUUUT!!!! If you?re starving and cannot wait for your meal? You will have a bad timewaiting. So come here knowing that you will wait for a very long time, but you will get amazing and delicious Cajun food. If Icould review the food alone? I would give it the highest amount of stars I could. But because it?s a c Read more
