This place gets mad at you if they're the ones who messed up your order. I walk into the Yucca Taproom and asked where is Bao... Chow. The bartender Shantel O. says this is the place, too. It's a dive bar with friendly patrons. First, I waited 45 minutesto find out that my ticket was never given to the cook. I wait another 15 minutes and they don't have the mac 'n cheese balls soI wait another 10 minutes to receive the rest of my food. I don't have problems with wait times. The issue was Shantel screamingat me to get out her way when I checked if the food order was right, which it wasn't. When the mac 'n cheese balls finally cameout, she opens the box to slide it over aggressively, knowing I was going to check my order. Shantel, I'm sorry your life isn'tgoing the way that you want it to but I never did anything wrong as a customer. You even had a 20% tip before my food came out.If you're the owner, you don't deserve customers. If you're just a bartender, I feel sorry that you have to act out in suchanger and frustration when it was you who didn't give the cook the ticket. Read more

The prices and proportions for the bao are ridiculous. The flavors were completely overwhelmed by the sauces, with the fillings... mostly cabbage and very little protein. Wings were ok, nothing special. Will not return. Read more

Good prices and great flavors. While the selection is small, there are still enough options that everyone, even the vegetarians,... should be able to find something. And it's all tasty. Lot of beer options makes it a nice place to sit with a friend after workand relax. Will definitely be back Read more

Been here for the bao and they are solid. Great balance of easy and west flavors that fit to a broad pallette. The hit chicken... is crazy good. Definitely check it out...hidden gem. Read more

I wish that I could comment on the food. Unfortunately, even though we braved the $4.50 bao?which the bartender described as... being ?two bites? small?we inevitably did not receive one. Because after waiting 15-20 minutes for a single tofu bao, weinquired with the bartender as to what the wait was. He told us that he had put in the order for a 20 top table before us andthat it was ?going to take a while.? Had he informed us that he had done so before we ordered then we could have made a moreinformed decision. But we wasted our time waiting for a single bao with no ETA. Thankfully, despite the massive oversight, ourbartender was very nice and voluntarily offered to refund us. Still, I won?t find myself here again. I can?t imagine that a baothe size of an amuse bouche is worth $4.50. Especially not in a dive bar in the corner of a dying strip mall. The owners shouldre-evaluate their clientele and remind themselves they aren?t in Los Angeles. Read more

This place is inside Yucca Tap Room, which is great! If you go to YTR, you can still get good food. You don't have to eat this... garbage. Bao Chow, one star; Yucca Tap Room, five stars. Read more

We usually go to the Yucca taproom for drinks and go somewhere else to eat. So it was nice to see that they opened a kitchen... that was connected right next door. Our bartender was very nice and told us we could take our drinks with us if we decided toeat over there. There was a gentleman that was sitting at the bar who seemed to be the manager. He didn't greet us or even makeeye contact. It wasn't until I walked up to the bar that he informed me there was no bartender. I politely told him that I wasthere for the food. Then he repeated that there was no bartender. I asked if there was a cook. He said yes. And for the 3rd timesaid but there's no bartender. I then said I just wanted to look at a menu. He very rudely said to go back to the bar and orderfrom the bartender in there. I asked for a menu and you could tell he was irritated and snapped that she had menus next door. Wethen went back finished our drinks and left. We will not go back there again if that's how management treats their customers. Its upsetting because we really liked the bar part of the place. So if you're there for drinks only I highly recommend it. Butyou're better off going somewhere else to eat. Read more
