Reviews for Leoness Cellars in Temecula, CA
New menu is a triumph! Leoness introduced its new wine-paired food menu on the member terrace this weekend and it is... amazing! I applaud the vision and courage it took the Leoness staff to replace a much-loved food menu with something new. Butthis new menu promises even more for fine food and wine aficionados. My wife and I prefer big bold reds, and Leoness has thebest of them in the wine country. However, we don?t usually order outside of our typical favorite cabernets, and we hadn?t puttoo much thought into the food/wine pairings. This new menu gave us so many reasons to do so. Featuring foie gras, goat cheeseand herb stuffed squash blossoms, prosciutto and asparagus that is basically a keto carbonara, and more, we were stunned withthe elevated food that is simply a step above the rest. And most importantly, all the menu items were thoughtfully paired withwines we simply have never ordered, yet were excellent in their pairings. The menu is a perfect reason to expand your horizonsof the variety of wines you can enjoy with this new menu. We ordered all three of the items mentioned above, along with theirrecommended pairings, and we simply loved it. Best squash blossoms outside of Rome, and best foie gras in SoCal. We still hadour big bold reds at the end, but only after a beautiful afternoon appreciating far more that Leoness has to offer than we hadknown so far. And a special shout out to our server Alexis, as well as Sous chef Jeremy and Manager Jessica for stopping by.Thanks for your vision and courage to bring us something new. It?s what put places like Troisgros on the map when theyintroduced cuisine nouvelle. And although change is hard, look what their perseverance did for fine dining. So y?all, beforeyou boo-hoo the absence of flatbreads and paninis from the old menu that you and I loved so much, give this new menu a fairchance. They still have everyone?s favorite fries (whether truffle or bacon parm or otherwise). But if you are anything Read more
Great ambiance. Sunset golden hour made it even prettier. Wine tasting selection was good for our individual liking in my... party. You look out into the vineyard, it was serene Read more
Beautifully intimate location. The Sunday service we received was superb from all of the staff we encountered! I had the duck... with gnocchi, which was not only beautifully presented, but tasted wonderful. My counterpart had shrimp and grits, but seemedthe grits were drowned a bit much for my liking. Now the creme brulee was delicious! The grounds were immaculate. Howvever, on aless fab note paved parking was almost non-existant, thus not the most ideal. So be advised your shoes and car will get dusty. You can drop your party off at the front. Oh and watch out for the snakes???? when it's warm out. Read more
Great selection of wines and wine tasting experience at Leoness Cellars along with the live band and sunshine was definitely not... a bad way to start the weekend! I was disappointed with the Restaurant though, the vegetarian medley entree on the menu wassimply a plate of succotash devoid of flavor or appeal. For such a great location, great wines and delicious truffle fries, Ithink this place could do better with their vegetarian options. Read more

The restaurant did close s bit early so planned accordingly when making reservations. We'lldefinitely return sometime in the future. Read more
We had lunch at Leoness Restaurant & felt like it was a great meal! The dining room area has a great atmosphere - it feels... modern and bright, with big doors that open that make it feel inside but with the fresh air of outside & the background noise ofa fountain. Our server was really friendly & explained both the wine and the specials really well. The tuna tartare was good(somewhat standard), but the entrees we got were outstanding. Both happened to be the daily specials - one was seabass, and theother was lamb. For lunch portions they were big and heavy but amazing. Neither one of us could finish our whole plate eventhough we wanted to because the food was so good! We also did the wine tasting in the tasting room - it was really crowded & Iwould say service there was average. We couldn't really figure out who was taking care of us - as there were several behind thebar, and sometimes two people would be in front of us, and then there would be awkward lengths where no one was there to refillour glasses. The best wines are their Zin & Syrahs! Definitely worth the trip to Leoness for both a tasting & a meal! Read more
The setting of the restaurant is one of the best in the Temecula Wine Country. The food was good and cooked perfectly but the... overall experience didn't match our expectations. The corn in the Salmon Escabeche was plain but was described as a elote? TheMushroom entree, albeit delicious, was the portion of an appetizer. Ultimately the service was the biggest disappointment. Iwouldn't have a problem with the food description or the small entree portion and high prices, if the service was elevated. Ourappetizer plates were left on the table the entire meal, our waiter rarely checked on us, and we left underwhelmed. Read more
