We had two meals here on a recent stay at the Lodge. The restaurant is called "The View" and is off the lobby of the hotel by... the pool overlooking the beautiful mountains and valley. We had our two pups with us so we at by the pool both times, which wasreally nice. I will just start off by saying our dinner experience was five stars, our breakfast was between 1 and 2 thus the 4stars. I am terrible remembering names in one meet type situations, perhaps that is a good thing in the case ofbreakfast. Dinner, our server was outstanding. She was a young lady with long blondish curly locks with a sparkling smile. She made our entire dinner experience exceptional from our cocktails to our dessert. She made sure we were well taken care ofand looked after despite being sort of off the beaten path from most of the restaurants guests. Our food could have beenterrible and I would have given the review five stars, that is how exceptional her service was -- so management if you arereading this -- the young lady originally from New Orleans/DC --- she is a KEEPER. I would recommend -- cocktail, I think itwas called the Pig's Puff? (amazing whiskey drink); Caesar salad was super fresh as in old school fresh - I had it with shrimpand the roasted carrots were off the charts delish. Breakfast, our server acted like she would have rather been somewhere elsethan serving us. It is not worth getting into the details of every turn of terrible service but more like her lack of eitherexperience/knowledge or even interest in job but if we were not hungry and too lazy to take the gondola down into Telluride wewould have probably left. A woman from inside came out to our table and asked us how our breakfast was and we said the food wasokay (It is pretty hard to screw up breakfast) and she was like "and the service?" and made a face... then said "because it isnot so hot inside" and we just laughed and said yeah not out here either. This place has everything you want for it to be an amazing dinner. However our server was clearly not feeling well with a... sniffly nose under his mask. He wasn't pleasant and definitely made our dinner overall not a great experience. I write thisbecause we had an 8pm reservation and there was only one other table that evening he had to take care of. The fixed menu isinteresting and they are definitely trying to be creative. My flank steak was on the rare side but I didn't want to ask for anycorrections. In the end I can only give this place 3 stars because the attention to detail you would expect in Mountain Villageis lacking. Read more
We missed our dinner reservation so came to the View last minute. Food was SO good!! Highly recommend trying all the apps-... especially the Brussel Caesar salad! Chef was very nice and came out to introduce herself. Will definitely be back! Read more
In mid June there weren't a lot of people. The food & drinks can be pricey, but over all tasted pretty good. The outside view is... amazing! Worth the price from the view. Staff were also very friendly. Read more
