Excellent food. We had a large group. The starters were great. The tempura shrimp was very tasty with the bang bang g... sauce. The olives were tasty. The soup was interesting. Amazing food, atmosphere and service!! Meghan is so sweet and the hostess is awesome. My favorite go to restaurant in downtown.... I will be back! We had the bread, mussels, trout and linguine. Mussels had curry base and was savory and seasoned well. I lovethat they have gf + vegan options too. Nothing was overtly salty and everything tasted so fresh. My husband and I loved dining here. Atmosphere was amazing along with service. Our waiter was prompt but never over barring... which is great when you want to enjoy a cocktail or two before ordering food. All of our food was delicious and left us ready toreturn on our next trip to Telluride. Make sure you save room for dessert!! Read more
Kind of hard to find in the dark, as the sign isn’t illuminated, but I didn’t see any other illuminated signs on the way... from the gondola neither so I won’t mark them down for it. The environment is nice with the wine on the walls and highceilings. Service was very professional which I enjoyed. The food was very good without having to wait to long. I had the duckand the bread so other pictured dishes I can’t give an opinion on, however I didn’t anything but praise from those whoordered them. The Duck was nicely garnished and very tender. The bread had a good amount of olive oil, which I liked, and thebutter was good as well. 9/10 which I’ll round to a 5/5. Might reduce the score as I try more restaurants during my stay here. The first time I came here (surprisingly height of Covid) the service was amazing, food was amazing. Fast forward a year later,... I couldn’t wait to come back. We live in Durango CO and there is nothing upscale quite like the National. We arrive with our 4month old baby, I had made a reservation for two people (because I was just holding the baby, obviously no extra seat needed)and the first thing the hostess does is chastise me about not booking for “three people” then she says the table isn’tready so we should wait at the bar. After waiting at the bar for 25 minutes, I see her seating other people because shecompletely forgot about us, even though we are two feet away and uncomfortable sitting at the bar with a baby. Then thebartender proceeds to ask my husband if we can move down all our things to make room for other customers. At this point, we arefinally sat down at our table, and our waitress was fairly pleasant. The only steak option offered was a New York strip, whichwas terrible and chewy. I mean it’s the worst cut, and it wasn’t cheap to match. The other entrees I did enjoy. Sad to seethis restaurant go down hill. The staff really needs some training. I felt like I was at an Applebees. I will also mention wehad even ordered multiple drinks at the bar, it’s not like we were taking up the space of potential customers. I ordered aMocktail just to be polite. We also had about a $350 bill between the two of us, so I’m amazed this is the kind of serviceprovided. Read more
