This place was so delicious! We stopped in on our way through town to grab lunch. My husband and I sat at the bar and received... great service. I enjoyed the salmon, (per the bartender's recommendation) cooked perfectly and accompanied with jalapeno slaw.My husband ordered the carne asada tacos. They had quite a selection of beers that were also amazing. Great big open dining roomand multiple televisions to keep yourself entertained. We both loved our meals and would definitely return! I really enjoyed this place for dinner last night. The service was excellent with a knowledgeable helpful server. I had the Elk... Rigatoni and it was very good. The beer I drank was the Citra IPA and overall it was also very good. The beer description statedit had overtones of mango and grapefruit. I would have preferred more grapefruit and less mango. It was given an IBU of 75 and Ithink that was a little bit high according to the bitterness that I tasted, but still a very enjoyable drink. Overall I highlyrecommend this as a place to go. We showed up on a drizzly Tuesday night and got a table quickly. It was packed inside so we sat outside. We weren’t super... hungry fry so we got a side of the mushrooms, the broccolini and a half order of chicken tenders. It was more than enough andthe tenders were some of the best we’ve had. We've rarely had a dish here that we have not liked over the last 10 years. Beers are good even for the ones who prefer a... standard domestic (I like The Reckoning). So to start, I'll never go back to "Smugs" again, and I work in Telluride. Firstly, even though they have a decent beer menu,... their regular pints are $8.00. The "special" selections are $9.00!! For a glass of beer. That's robbery. If I'm paying that muchfor a beer, it'd better be 8% or higher or a full pint. Here, it rarely is. The food while good, is equally expensive. Theymake a decent burger and the wings are delicious. But... you're going to pay for it. In my opinion, higher than the standardrate in Telluride. Currently, the bar area is offering 1/2 off drinks. But at the bar only. This is also advertised in thelocal paper. Three times now, I've been charged full price for the beers I've had. Most recently, I argued with the Asianbartender that there's no way I slammed three beers in 30 minutes (after the special ended & when I tabbed out). I'd normallysay this was a one-off mistake. But again, three times? Smugs is bilking people that don't pay attention to their bills. Andit's because of that, that I won't ever return. Go somewhere else while in Telluride. Read more
