OMG! I have been away from this place for way too long. When coming intoTelluride to eat out I must remember to go directly to... Oak (the New Fat Alley) for almost anything on their eclectic and unique menu that just starts with BBQ, goes through dozens offine dishes (meat and meatless), and any beverage you need. Located at the bottom of Oak Street on Gondola Plaza, it's at thecrossroads of the two towns, Telluride and Mountain Village. It moved there from up Oak St. about 10 years ago and has becomethe place to go for hearty, wonderful food ever since. Robbie and his staff of a dozen knowledgeable people will serve youinside or outside (in almost any weather). My fave is the Potato and Black Bean Sauté or the Ziti and Black Beans but youcan't go wrong with their best burgers in town, the ribs, the Po' Boy and anything on the menu. A Telluride legend and a greatplace to meet and eat. Read more
Food was good, service not so much. Staff was friendly, but getting their attention to get a dessert or the check was difficult.... I finished my cider, and I was not asked if I wanted another. (Mind you, I have an open tab, so why not ask? How much do youwant to bring in?) As I said the food was good. I got a half rack of ribs and a side of red beans and rice. For dessert, aslice of pecan pie. The ribs could have used a rub prior to being cooked and sauced, I think the rub would have added a bit ofmissing spice that the sauce didn't have. I did like the hearty pieces of peppers and onions in the sauce, though. Red beans andrice, again, need some seasoning. This is supposed to be a southern-inspired restaurant. The hot sauce on the table added whatthe red beans and rice were lacking. The pecan pie was properly warmed in an oven (evident by some slight crust blackening),served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It was a good finish to the meal. If you don't mind being left alone by servers at afull-service establishment, this place may be your cup of tea. While food is really nothing spectacular, it was still good. Read more
WARNING! Do not eat here. I had the waiter come back and ask for my credit card saying since it was debit it didn't go through.... I was suspicious but gave it to him. He kept it for over 30 minutes. I had to go ask for it back. Turns out a copy was made andthey have been trying to use it ever since at places in California and Oklahoma. I tried several times to track down the ownerRobbie and tell him to watch for this but he would not even bother to return my call. To avoid these headaches stay away!!Robbie you need to monitor your Staff better and return calls from concerned customers. This happened the end of June 2022. Read more

I think I could lock my dog in the kitchen and he could accidently make better food than what we had here. This wasn't a one... off. Between a group of use we ordered multiple entrees and an appetizer and it was universally agreed this food was garbage. I'm being harsh because there was zero pride in the preparation of these meals. I hope this place closes and another restaurantwho takes pride in what they do takes this space. Read more
