Reviews for Chop House Restaurant at New Sheridan in Telluride, CO
Stopped here towards the end of lunch on a Tuesday. We shared the French onion soup, a delicious, gooey mess that was thoroughly... enjoyable. I had the turkey club which was tasty. He had the local trout salad with poached egg and spinach. We each had twoglasses of wine that were very nice. Read more
Had dinner there tonight with a group of 9. Had a very enjoyable evening. Our server Brian was excellent. One of our guests meal... was not prepared as he requested. Immediately Brian took care of it and brought a replacement out, cooked to perfection. Thegeneral manager even stopped by to apologize and make sure all was okay. Highly recommend! Everyone enjoyed their dinner. Read more
This place is ridiculously overpriced. I could understand this if the food was super delicious, but the food was just OK, and... some was less than OK (French onion soup was oversalted). We didn't have steaks. Who knows, they might have compensated for therest but based on the appetizers we didn't want to risk it (for such a price). The dinner menu was extremely limited. Ourwaitress was nice (that's why I didn't give it one star) but the overall service was quite slow. Basically, you pay for a view(if you sit outside) and the central location on the main street. I won't go there again. Read more
I have to say this again. What a great place! The best steakhouse in the state. Fantastic service and atmosphere. What treat!
We ate here for an early Valentine’s Day dinner and it was spectacular! It was our first time visiting Telluride, so we... didn’t know much about where to eat, but am so happy we ended up at the Chop House. We had the most amazing lobster gnocchistarter, my boyfriend said his elk dish was the best he’s ever had, and the French onion soup was to die for. Plus thecocktails were the cherry on top! Definitely recommend if you want a nice dinner outing while in Telluride. Read more

We stopped by for a few late afternoon apps on a Sunday. The pros: Staff was friendly and accommodating on our seating and our... server was personable and prompt. The cons: the food was pretty disappointing, unfortunately. We tried the Caesar, corn chowder, dumpling special, sashimi, and truffle fries. For the high price, we were expecting much better, but all seemed to be missingsomething, and none of us would recommend any of them, which was a bummer. The space itself is cool, and it seems like otherpeople have had better food experiences, so maybe we just didn’t order the right things. Could be a good spot for just a drinkand sitting along the street for some people watching. Read more
Well... after some thought about leaving a review, I'm finally going to. My wife and I came here for our 4th anniversary and... enjoyed the evening for the most part, the service was mediocre at best. The food on the other hand... Let me first state, Iordered a mid-rare bison steak... mid- rare... so that I shouldn't have to worry about it being too underdone. After all, Ihave been a chef for 12 years and when going to a steakhouse where you spend 350 dollars on a dinner for 2, you shouldn't haveto worry about if your food is cooked properly, right? Well... don't make the same assumption I did, because I was bathroom andbed ridden for 4 whole days after eating here. I will never make the mistake of eating here again, the cosmopolitan is muchbetter and won't make you sick for a majority of your vacation, plus it's only a few blocks away (one of the perks of mountaintown life). If only I would've spent my money elsewhere. Read more
