First time there on Friday, my in laws were staying at the key west resort. The chicken salad melt is to die for, the bartenders... are so friendly and efficient! My first time going there and I felt like I fit right in. Wonderful place and I have a lot to say but this review is for the... hard working host and hostesses out there. Personally I hate the terms servers, waiters and waitresses. I had Sarah as myhostess and I was impressed. She had a large group of around 30 people or more celebrating a birthday that she was taking careof so it took awhile for her to get to me. When she passed by my table she would stop and apologize about the food taking awhileto come out. I realize there are 30+ people who just ordered food ahead of me and I wouldn't expect my food to be served inrecord time nor would I expect my empty glass to be refilled immediately. Basically what I'm saying folks is pay attention towhat is going on around you because it's not always just about you. Tip accordingly.???? Updated 8-7-22 I guess the best way Icould describe The Dog House is it has a great mix of young and old and you can enjoy being around either one or both. They havea lot of different things going on so I suggest following them on Facebook to find a day you would enjoy the most. UnfortunatelyI don't have enough time or money to do all the ones I'd like. The owner and staff are all wonderful people who make your timethere enjoyable. I usually don?t do negative reviews and I really wanted to like this place! That being said, there were so many things that need... worked on. We walked in and waited awkwardly at the door for 5 minutes before someone would even acknowledge us. They led usback to the patio, then left again. The server came back and asked us where we would like to go- as a large party we did nothave much space so we asked if we could move two tables together. We hauled our own dirty tables together and waited for a wipedown. After awhile we sat down and he came back to get it all wiped off as kids had just eaten at the tables and it was a bit ofa mess. We were then asked what we wanted to order, but we did not have a single menu. He was able to bring 4 crumpled papermenus from the back, and wasn?t sure where more were. We ordered drinks and half of the drinks took 40 min while the other halftook 60 min. Most of the drinks were just straight from a can or straight soda. One of the mixed drinks was even doneincorrectly with vodka instead of rum- no help could be had at the bar though as no one would make eye contact. Food began totrickle out after an hour or so- sad to say most of it was overly greasy or overcooked. The fried deviled eggs had been fried torubbery status on the inside. Onion rings were mostly batter, very little onion seen. The pretzel bites were good though! Themixed drinks were all very small and did not contain much alcohol. We did not dare order a second round or anything else becausewe wanted the experience over as soon as possible. The good part about this place was the dog friendliness, but the yard to walkdogs was completely carpeted in cigarette butts. Luckily we noticed it before any of the dogs swallowed anything. Everythingthat could go wrong seemed to go wrong, our server seemed very out of it during the whole experience. The fried deviled eggs are spectacular! Crispy, creamy, salty and flavorful- so good. The stuffed burgers, a house specialty,... were delicious as well- with buns branded with a paw print- cute! This is a nice family and dog friendly sports bar with lots ofgames to play both inside and out. There's a large covered patio with ample table seating, plus lounge chairs and more games onthe grassy area beside it. There's an adult menu, one for kids and another for the dogs.
