Came to Sugar Moon when I visited my sister in Nova Scotia. Food was yummy. Blueberry compote was soooo good! Maple butter... was divine! Wish we were able to do the tour as well but because of the hurricane that had just recently went through there alot of trees were down. Nice place to visit with family! Very homey and cozy. A sweet little place in the woods to view the sugar shack and have a lovely Maple themed lunch. We had maple butter with yummy... biscuits. Pancakes with wild blueberry compote and maple whipped cream, local German sausage with Maple mustard. There was agreat tour of the sugar shack explaining the whole operation and the history of the sugar shack. Read more

Lovely staff who treat their guests with pleasure and take the time to explain their maple syrup process. There were a few... different options for food and they were very accommodating. Maple butter (and all the other maple infused dishes) was somethingI never knew I needed before visiting Sugar Moon. Read more

I love it here. I've hiked the mountain a few times with my dog (who I pick up after, including the bag..!!!) and it's worth the... climb! The views are beautiful and you'll get your exercise! The trail goes up the mountain and then loops back down to thefarm. The food is delicious, especially the maple butter and biscuits! So many people have posted reviews about the pancakes andwhile I agree they aren't my favourite item on the menu (because I'm not a huge fan of whole wheat pancakes), everything else isdelicious and it is so worthwhile to go! We recently did the Maple Magic tour and there was lots of interesting information, andthe sugar on snow was so fun! Highly recommend. Read more

Beautiful spot before snowshoeing in the woods. If you're going to eat make sure you get there before 2pm and if possible make a... reservation because the place get's pretty busy. Buy the maple butter, it's the best! Read more

Sugar Moon Farm has always been a must stop in anytime we travel to Nova Scotia. No matter where we've stayed it was always... worth the trip. Last year we were unable to make it to Nova Scotia due to Covid, and when we were able to come this year weknew unfortunately some of the places we frequent might change. We received an email saying Sugar Moon Farm was acceptingreservations for Saturday & Sundays and we made one. When we went in, they were very clear of their covid protocols, which weresimple & succinct. We got the menu and it's changed a little bit, our go to dish was no longer there, but we saw someinteresting new options. We both ended up getting the Sugar Camp Pork and Eggs and I have to say I was absolutely blown away.Mike, the new chef has a background in fine dining and the meal absolutely shows it, without being overly pretentious orstuffy. It is unassuming breakfast fine dining, where the staff are friendly and just want you to completely enjoy no matterwhere you're from, what you get, you will be impressed. Nova Scotia is known for it's seafood, but incredible chefs like Mikemake it known for incredible food. 5/5 is an understatement. If you're able to, make a reservation, get a delicious inexpensivemeal, and get excited for what Mike has for your next visit. Read more

We decided to adventure out to this place for Family Day. After reading some other reviews, we planned to hike before breakfast... and rent snowshoes. Today was the most beautiful day to go - the sun was shining, there was a fresh blanket of snow, and theviews on the 6.2km hike were worth every effort. The trails are exceptionally well marked, and it is very evident that they aregroomed often. Breakfast was good; the pancakes were not what we are used to. But the maple butter, biscuits and beans were sodelicious. Staff were quick and friendly! Overall, a good experience. We will be back! A few tips - the parking lot fills upquickly, so you may have to park along the road. I would recommend passing the parking lot and then parking - so it doesn'tblock the road in. Definitely register your name on the waitlist for breakfast before you go on the hike - by the time we weredone the hike (approx 2 hours), we were at the top of the list and walked right in to a table. Also - check the weather beforeyou go. I can't stress this enough. We were very overdressed today and wish we had come more prepared. Also - take water!! Read more
