What a beautiful house turned into a restaurant. It is decorated beautifully. We arrived and were greeted by the sweetest... hostess. She seated us in the room to the right of the front door. I would call it the Coca Cola room. There is quite a fewCoke memorabilia on the wall plus some other brands. The waitress came and took our drink order and told us about the special. We got the pepper jack cheese sticks as an appetizer. They brought some rolls and butter was already on the table. Theyweren't hot but they were good. The cheese sticks arrived. They came with a raspberry spread. Oh my! Sweet and spicy. Theywere very big cheese sticks. I loved that raspberry spread. The waitress brought our salads. I had the house salad. Oh, thepecans, mango, and strawberries were delicious. Maybe add a few more to it in the future. I opted for the raspberryvinaigrette too. Our entree came out. I had the ribeye and my wife had the special. It was some form of chicken parmesan. She said it was delicious. The steak was medium like I ordered. It had a good taste to it. I rather enjoyed the grilled squashthat came with my ribeye. We were well pleased with our dinner at the Windmill. I casually asked the hostess about the houseand she gave us a little tour and some history of the house. We will definitely go back. Read more

Great atmosphere and great corn fritters!! However, that it's.. very slow service, steaks are not fresh nor cooked to proper... requested temp. Fries were cheap and burnt. Worth going to once but won't be back. Read more

On buffet Sunday, you may be better done elsewhere. Stopped in on a whim, got squeezed into a corner that ended up being... enclosed around me because the others ath the bar didn't appear to want anyone passing them. I ended up getting to the buffetand found 2 things...fried chicken and boiled squash. Before I even got one plate I was asked if i needed dessert yet. Oneminor scan in front of me could determine i had not had any food yet. Hopefully, the staff that end up bussing my spot will seethat I didn't get a single item other than the bread I was given initially. Read more

What a family history! Very quaint and homey restaurant. We had the ribeye steak with homemade rolls. The Windmill salad with... home made dressing was delicious. Everything was good. Prices very reasonable. Staff very friendly. If passing this way againwould definitely stop by. Ask about the history of the restaurant. Read more

The Windmill Restaurant is a country treasure nestled among the farmland of Montgomery County in Tarrytown, Georgia. The... ambience of the old house after its beautiful makeover creates an expectation of excellence that is met in every way. The foodis rich in taste and wholesome as your grandma's cooking. My wife ordered sea bass, and I had the Angus ribeye. Both weresuperb. (I know because I tasted the sea bass, too.) I'll definitely be back soon to enjoy their low country boil with snow crablegs.
