Reviews for Costas Restaurant in Tarpon Springs, FL
Costas was off the main drag but everything is close together so no big deal to walk to for a great meal. 2 for 1 happy hour, ... fried calamari, shrimp saginaki, then of course, a gyro & chicken souvlaki sandwiches. Staff was friendly, service wasattentative & quick. Definitely, worth a visit! Read more

Stopped here for lunch after exploring tarpon spring and the sponge dock area. What a good find! I got their mixed seafood... platter of shrimp, calamari, octopus, and grouper! It tasted fresh and had a good depth of flavor. Read more
Tarpon Springs is an interesting place to visit. There's an odd mix of tourists, locals, and out-of-towners that keeps the area... feeling like a tourist trap, but still maintains a certain local charm. Being a settlement of the Greeks back in the day forsponge diving, there is certainly no shortage of Greek themed food establishments. Yeah, some famous named TV chef endorses thisone restaurant, and some slightly famous food video blogger raves about another, blah blah. But there is a nice, slightly offthe path gem called Costa's right there in the center of town. First, the service. perfect every time. Nice, friendly, andprompt. Second, the prices are very reasonable. Third, the food is quite simply the best Greek/Mediterranean cuisine on theplanet. Portions are more than sufficient to satisfy the largest appetites. Always start with the Saganaki (flaming cheese). We've had so many wonderful dishes here. The Mousaka will blow your mind! The lamb shank can almost feed two. The Souvlaki(chicken or pork) is so juicy and tender and comes with a ton of garnishes. Their Greek salad is a work of art and comes with adressing that nears a religious experience. Let's talk Gyro meat for a second. There are so many variations and recipes for agood Gyro. But, Costa's has the absolute best Gyro meat on the planet. The seasonings aren't over bearing and the meat is alwaysglistening with juices and so very tender. When in Tarpon Springs, get away from the dolphin cruise barkers and redundanttourist gift shops for a bit and sit your butt down at Costa's for grub. You will NOT leave hungry, guaranteed. I wouldrecommend doing a dolphin cruise, BEFORE eating though. There are no public facilities on Anclote Island and the accommodationson the dolphin cruises would be less than desirable for any such..."needs". Read more
Really good food. The locals recommend. Come hungry. The serving are large. Tip, if you pick up an area map at the tourist... center (down the street), there's a coupon for a free "flaming cheese." Read more
Best gyros I?ve ever had. Authentic gyros. The meat was a thicker cut and cooked perfectly. Great wait staff. They even gave us... a water bowl for our dog when we ate outside! They have a lot of Greek options on the menu. Just a great experience overall. Will definitely be back Read more
Very delicious! We used to frequent another restaurant over the last 6 years, but after 2 bad experiences back to back, we... decided to try Costa's. They seemed to be short staffed, but had MUCH better service than the other restaurant. Excellentselection of menu items. We will definitely be back! Kudos Costa's! Read more
Food was good, we specifically went to try the stuffed peppers. We also tried dolmades which were very good. The cod was also... very good! We tried the loakoades(Greek donut holes) they were not soft as I thought they may be. The service was fair, server was friendly but was slow, forgetful and didn?t offer us dessert. I would go again for the stuffed pepper. Not sureotherwise. Read more
