Reviews for Taos Pizza Out Back in Taos, NM
This review is not based on the food since we never actually got a chance to eat here. We arrived around 6pm on a Monday for... dinner. It was busy, and one waitress told us to sit anywhere. We found a table and waited. Another waitress eventually came upand said she guessed she would take our table while she looked around as if to see what happened to the other waitress. We putin a simple order of a 12" pizza, one soda and a water. She put our order in from her iPad and got us our drinks. And we waited. And waited. And waited. Meanwhile, everyone around us received their food, ate, paid and left. Our cups ran dry with no checkingon us or whether we needed a refill (even went looking to refill myself but found no water or help). As the restaurant wasemptying out we were noticed by our waitress and she went to check on our order. It was now approaching 7:30 and we werestarved. When she said it was going to be even longer we decided we had lost all patience and told her we were just going toleave. Unfortunately, it was a Monday with many places closed. We headed back to our hotel in Ski Valley and had missed anyopportunity to eat somewhere else. Fortunately we had some crackers left in our room, but this was not the dinner we hadimagined. A very disappointing experience to say the least. Read more

Taos Pizza Outback is a cute little spot for pizza in Taos. The ingredients are fresh and flavorful, and their selection of... draft beers is fun. Be warned though, since the dough and pizza is made fresh with each order, expect a 1 to 1.5 hour wait. Can?t wait to go back! Read more
Stopped in for lunch today. 4 slices, 3 salads, 4 drinks, 2 desserts. Our server was wonderful, she really made us feel welcome... and taken care of. Food was mostly good, as it has been for the past 30 years that we've been eating here. However, one of ourslices was raw and gummy. No big deal. It happens. It had a lot of wet toppings and we assumed it just changed the texture ofthe crust or something. It was the Shredder, which we get often and it's usually delicious, but this slice was much differentthan usual. The dough seemed kind of raw or something. Since it wasn't really edible we decided to mention it to the server, whowas wonderful and immediately apologized and said she would see what she could do. When we got the check we saw that nothing hadbeen discounted, and asked her about it. She said that the manager wasn't able to do anything for us. Since the slice wasn'tedible, it kind of felt strange, so we asked to speak to the manager thinking that maybe she had misunderstood the situation. The server came back a few minutes later and said that the manager had done a 5 percent discount. The bill was just over $100,so we figured we would just let it go at this point. Until we realized that she had discounted....5 percent of the SLICE! .55cents....At this point it felt very strange and we asked again to speak to the manager, thinking she must've made a mistake. Shefinally came to our table with the meanest attitude and said that she did indeed mean to discount 5 percent of the inedibleslice and said that was all she was authorized to offer from the owner. When we asked if their policy was to not offer to remakethe food or refund the food when it is inedible she visibly sneered. It was surreal. We gave the server a 20 percent tip andmoved on with our lives, but are writing this in hopes that the owner will read and help her work on customer service, andcustomer relations. One of us is a local business owner, who sends out of towners to this restaurant, Read more

The plus: The pizzas are grate, the spaghetti is smoky tasting, the wings are perfect. Service was top for how busy they were.... And the bad: Ordered 12 wings and asked for two sauces, They charged for 2 totally separate orders $6 differents. When asked Iwas told owner requires the charge, I said the customer requires to be notified. It looks like management didn't communicatesome important points to his/her team to notify customers. $113.00 total for a 14? pie spaghetti one order of wings (2 ) in theowner?s eyes. Two glasses tea. So take it as you will. Would I go back? Not before trying the other pie recommended spots. Read more
