My wife is Asian I thought that she would appreciate some food from home LOL the spicy Thai chicken wings, well the peanut sauce... is nothing that you would ever find in Thailand the sweet sauce on the plate with the herbs is something that they would servewith prawns or shrimp anyway it was delicious but not Thai. Make your own Noodle Bowl was very disappointing. The beef broth wasnot a good flavor overall it was disappointing. The green chili with lamb appetizer was the most disappointing. Had a good dining experience at Donabe the waiters were attentive and the food came out hot. The drinks were well made.
Finally got to try Donabe tonight and I am so glad we did. The food was excellent, very fresh and cooked well. I loved the... fusion of different cuisines throughout their menu. The flavors were unique and bright. We got the Ruben bahn mi and therellenos, both were unbelievably tasty. That bison pastrami is amazing! The rellenos, despite being fried and full of cheese,were not the least bit greasy and the sauce and beautifully cooked lamb on top was divine. Our server was awesome, superfriendly and personable. He checked on us often and kept us up to date on the progress of our meal. I loved sitting in the backcourtyard, it was so lovely. Overall the experience felt luxurious for a very reasonable price. We've had some great meals inTaos but that was one of the best. We'll definitely be back often, I can't wait to try more of the menu. Thank you for awonderful date night! Read more
After ordering dumplings, that were like they were cooked the day before, a guest wanted to order dumplings. They would not... serve her, saying that dumplings were only available after 3:00. I ordered Pad Thai, no egg, as I am vegan. My order was servedwith egg and I even had a piece of squash that was molded. I could not eat it as it is the worst Pad Thai I have ever had. Myhusband had the Pad Thai with shrimp. Only 4 shrimp for 23.00. He ate the shrimp but could not eat the Pad Thai as it was awful.We did take Togo containers, but he had to flush it. We had been trying to eat here for a minute but it had been closed due toemployees not showing up to work. I could not have been more disappointed. I had such high hopes for Donabe, as the menu hadseveral options for vegetarians and vegans. Will not be back ever! Read more
Horrible experience. First of took 45 minutes with no apology she laughed when we asked her to label things. I ordered a gluten... free bun and they did not label the box. That's ok we had another burger that had no tomatoes with a gluten bun. So the boxthat says no tomatoes should be gluten right. Wrong I had to call and ask what their gluten free bun looked like and yes I justate gluten after 4 years. I will be very sick tomorrow Thank you very much for hurting me. I quite literally can not believe this place has any good reviews. The food is shockingly bad. I went here with my family, and... we left the restaurant doubled-over laughing. The food was so bad it was actually hilarious. While we were there we genuinelyspeculated if we were on some kind of prank TV show. The curry they served us looked terrible, and tasted worse. Honestly, ittasted just like potpourri (you know the dried flowers old people leave on the back of their toilets to make the bathroom smellnicer?) it tasted just like how that smells. My sister actually requested that they not charge her the curry she ordered becauseit tasted just like soap. All of the flavors in our dishes had no business being in food - there was A LOT of lavender andfloral flavors in both curries we ordered. Also, the owner is super buck wild. I live in Albuquerque. I went to Taos and ordered two Pad thai for to go. After coming back to home I found only dry mushy... boiled noodles with some poor quality vegetables. It was worst food I have ever tasted. I paid $52! Pad thai is one of myfavorite dishes, so I will never call this item Pad thai. We should not sell mushy boil rice as fried rice. Had to throw it intrash. And your reply was very disappointing. In facebook I tried to reply you. Please stop giving lame excuses. Read more
Great dinner at Donabe last night! Enjoyed the spring rolls, vegetarian and shrimp, with sauce. Fresh, flavorful, yummy. Pad... Thai with jumbo shrimp was delicious! Gorgeous space with lots of art, cool live music. Cozy on a chilly night! Reservationsrecommended. Definitely going back soon. Read more
