Reviews for Casa de Valdez in Taos, NM
This spot has an interesting menu with good local beer options, but we were disappointed with our food. Pros: We were seated... quickly, staff/service was prompt, and the menu looks promising. Cons: We ordered 2 different dishes and both were really blandand uninspired. Our food left us wondering if this is more of a BBQ place, since we went with the NM fare. Read more
Casa de Valdez was recommended by our tour guide and it is our MUST go to restaurant every time we are lucky to visit Taos. ... Atmosphere, food, service is great! They go above and beyond every time we visit. Will return soon! Read more
Food was ????. We were sat next to the restroom. I understand shortages of help but saw some just milling around doing small... things. I think it was the bartender from a different room that asked us if we had ordered ???? He ordered our ice tea for us.Took awhile before we saw a server (about 15 min) to take our order. Did I mention we were seated at the restroom doors? Servicewas slow. Food OK. refills on ice tea slow and when we received our check had to let the server know we hadn't been charged forour ice tea. It was very close to our RV Park. Went there because the place we were going to was closed for the Sabbath. Saturday and Sunday Read more
Good food with a variety of New Mexican dishes and BBQ. Outside seating available.
The bartender was great! The good was delicious. The combination platter Christmas style was great. We both thought the hatch... chili could be hotter. The red chili was smokey. Just delicious. The Sopapilla stuffed with beef was great. Everything was sogood we stayed in town to go back. Read more
If I lived in Taos, I would come here ALL the time and get their sopapillas. Seriously, one of THE best sopapillas I?ve ever... had. We had to order another round for the table cuz one wasn?t enough haha. Sorry I didn?t get a picture. But the iced tea wasvery fresh and the service was great! And I loved my green chile chicken enchilada. Read more
Had a great meal of chile rellenos and blue corn enchiladas. The ingredients had wonderful flavor and the sopapillas were... delightful (order extra so you have one the sop up the sauces of your meal and another to eat with honey for dessert). Anownership transition has left them without a liquor license for the moment but they are working that out and I look forward tocoming back and having a margarita with my meal. Service was super friendly and welcoming. Read more
Great food. Bad staff. Could be the best place to eat in Taos without the incompetent waiters and waitresses. They'll go out of... their way to mess up your order and refuse to fix it because the place operates on such a shoestring budget. Read more
