This was my first visit to So Gourmet and I?ll definitely be back. Note: this is not the place to visit if you are in a massive... rush. The owners/staff take their time waiting on you. However, I find that part of the appeal (and it?s very true-to-Europe,they aren?t in a rush and neither should you). Once I ordered my food it arrived very quickly. I ordered the goat cheese saladand it was hands-down one of the best salads I?ve had in all of Tampa. Very generous portion of spinach, walnuts, and goatcheese. The dressing was subtle but perfect. The quiches and dessert on display looked amazing as well, but I did not try them.I?m very excited about this restaurant and will definitely return to try more menu items, especially breakfast. I live in the neighborhood and took a walk with my wife this morning. Strolled in to try this place out finally. We ordered... the egg breakfast with cappuccino and took home the strawberry tart. The home fries are the best I have ever had in my life. Everything was on point. I always check the negative reviews to see what the complainers point out. This place is great. I think that many people, who wrote a negative review, need to travel more often. You want French style... food but you want American style service. Well as the French say "tant pis." That isn't how it works, there is no waitress thatkneels beside you with a big juicy smile, asks you how you are, even though they don't know you or care. This place hasdelicious food and has straight forward service. It is French food in America, and in Tampa, there is no better. So don't missout. Go prepared to dine slow and enjoy sitting and talking to the person you came with, because if you are in a hurry, youmissed the point of a lovely food and dining experience anyway. Read more
